The U has contacted Stoops and Herman?

The next 4-6 weeks are going to be a **** show. You got one thread saying we are only going after "established" coaches so guys like Herman are out and one below it saying Herman as been contacted and Schiano and Cristobal aren't in the running (which they shouldn't be)

How can they contract people with jobs under contract in the middle of the season and if they are taking to their agents why would the agents leak it at this early stage when it can only complicate their clients situations.

Do you really think an AD is going to grant permission to talk his/her coach in the middle of the season? C'mon guys think.

It's called back channels...

I'm ok with this. If they're truly distancing themselves from the Miami bunch (Stoops was a position coach at one point), I'm ok with it. Although part of me would like to see Butch back into the fold. But it's better giving up on the Butch dream then the possibility of having Chud, Mario, or Schiano.

Those are some leaky back channels. A little to leaky to believe.

100%

1. Is Butch better than Butch? YES!
2. Is Butch equal to Butch? **** YEAH!
3. Is Butch Butch? **** YEAH!
4. Butch passes the Butch test.
5. Hire Butch.

By the way, to date, Butch is the only candidate to actually pass the Butch test.

The source is Bleacher Report? That means some 18 year old kid saw a rumor on a message board and blogged about it. Nothing to see here.

I want Herman

i have it on good authority that herman would purposely tank the first time he went head to head with urban.

it was part of letting him out of his contract.

Lets be factual. Stoops was not on Butches staff. He was hired to replace Pagano. Blake was here, and if it's his hire I always have thought he's taking a coach from that group. BTW, stoops was great when he was here, but man I could coach Ed Reed, Pbuch, Mike Rumph, etc.

He killed it as DC at FSU as well. The guy has shown he can coach defense for sure. I'm surprised he's not doing better at Kentucky tbh with the east being down and all.

If you bring in Herman what do you do with Kaaya?

Kaaya is absolutely not a fit for Herman's read option offense

From what I've read, Herman is big on player's strengths, rather than being tied to a particular system or philosophy.

Can't remember if it was Urban or Herman that said "if great players don't fit your system, then change the system."

This. Not to mention, Kaaya will only be here for 2 more years at best. Hopefully Herman will be here much longer. Look at what Meyer did with Leak at UF as a prime example. Hire the right man for the job. Everything else will fall into place.
