The Two Biggest Issues that Need to be Addressed

Grow up, Peter Pan.
I'm not joking. Berrios and Restrepo are our last two above-average WRs, and there's no shortage of their types locally. If the local 4-star "athletes" we've recruited lately can't do what's asked of them (catch passes, run precise routes, block) then find more kids who execute fundamentals, as Gattis was just talking about earlier. This kid went off against Palmetto last week: https://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/jose-leon/tbeksAHCEeyAz5TgcHt2rg/default.htm

The Special teams coach thing is misunderstood. We have a dedicate coach running special teams.
We had a dropped punt that shouldn't have been fielded and 2 missed field goals. The snaps and hold were perfect. That's coaching. The kicks are on the kicker. Coverages are on the coaching and that was fine. The opening kick was dumb to kick to achane but not end of the world. The dropped punt was on TS. He is not coached to field that. When kicker makes all his kicks and we average 40 yards a return we will say the special teams are great. At this point there is nothing to say or show that our specials are a problem.

Gattis needs to adjust his scheme to fit TVD

Mario needs to not be so conservative during in game coaching decisions

Both are highly unlikely to change which means closer games against inferior opponents and probably a loss or two we shouldn’t have (we should’ve beat Texas A&M)

Seeing a 8-4 type season right now
isnt that what Oregon fans said when we got Mario though.

we coached to lose nicely in the scoreboard.

Special Teams
WR

Both need better talent and a real dedicated coach. It is glaring where we are deficient. I am not sure if we can make any staffing changes mid season but if we can't please get Andre Johnson or Reggie Wayne to teach the receivers ball skills. You would think logic would tell you to extend your arms to catch a ball but apparently not.
QB.
WR.

i like the kickoff coverage and return units. blocked fg, badly missed fg, botched punt return and spotty punt coverage -- sloppy.
To be fair, Riq muffing the point isn’t on the coaching

Honestly I think we need to bring in a psychiatrist to teach the wr's how to concentrate on holdiing onto the ball......then the shrink can teach the coaching staff not be be such pussies and throw the ******* ball down the ******* field.

Clock management
risk management was FAR worse. risk regarding fg in 3rd quarter and putting stevenson at pr without coaching him up on not doing dumb**** like he did the week before

Clock management wasnt great, but not horrible or anything.

Special teams has generally looked good this season. A muffed punt and one bad FG kick isn’t an indictment on all special teams IMO.
