The Two Biggest Issues that Need to be Addressed

WR

Both need better talent and a real dedicated coach. It is glaring where we are deficient. I am not sure if we can make any staffing changes mid season but if we can't please get Andre Johnson or Reggie Wayne to teach the receivers ball skills. You would think logic would tell you to extend your arms to catch a ball but apparently not.

i like the kickoff coverage and return units. blocked fg, badly missed fg, botched punt return and spotty punt coverage -- sloppy.
 
Specials came down to 4 key plays

Not kicking it through the endzone. They got to the 38. I don’t think they score if they start from the 25. Not sure if this was execution or coach decision but can’t risk that

Putting TS out there was a complete error for Mario. It reeks of “play senior at all costs.” TS has made more than one boneheaded decision back there

Low trajectory on the FG that was blocked. That’s on Borregales

Not being in a position to recover the muffed punt. Either we aren’t coached to take out the returner or we weren’t locked in and hustling thinking he was going to drop it. Which should be every time

What’s the outcome of the game with these 4 plays going the other way?

After rewatching the game this morning, it's more scheme with the WRs. We need more quick routes and tempo. TVD had ample time but waited too long to throw. He looked better under Lashlee because of it.

If it doesn’t change Gattis won’t make it.

It’s quite simple what he needs to do. If he doesn’t he’ll be somewhere else next yr. This fanbase won’t tolerate stupidity/stubbornness from coaches. Speed it up & have less long developing routes or his time here will be short. Plain & simple.

Let's get catching the ball under control before we worry about talent.
 
Maybe we should recruit more white WRs? I mean how else do we alleviate body catching and refusal to attack the ball at its highest point?

I’m a couple more games of Robot TVD away from calling for Garcia. I understand we hyped TVD after his stretch last season, but he can’t just look so cavalier out there and throw 50 percent wounded ducks. He needs to step up as well. Even if he’s being done no favors by wide outs or coordinators
 
Gattis needs to adjust his scheme to fit TVD

Mario needs to not be so conservative during in game coaching decisions


Both are highly unlikely to change which means closer games against inferior opponents and probably a loss or two we shouldn’t have (we should’ve beat Texas A&M)

Seeing a 8-4 type season right now
