Richt: Lost to a Colorado team that finished 5-7
Lost to a Vanderbilt team that finished 4-8 and it was a home game for Georgia
Lost to a Kentucky Team that finished 7-6
Lost to UCF in 2010 while only scoring 6 total points in the game.
Got beat down by Boise State in 2011 but ill give Richt a pass because Chris Peterson could coach circles around him

Last 9 fbs games Richt 2-7. Richt never had to coach through the **** Butch had when he came here

Not really....But its fact he did it...Some recruits & family made Butch and Staff aware....

I get the argument that hiring butch when he’s **** near 70 could be an issue and I think we missed the boat already at this point but what is with this obsession to downplay what he did at UM.
Thanksgiving is around the corner. Give thanks to the gods we had the players and dominance that came with it because of Butch Davis.
You’d think that’d be appreciated now more than ever considering the pathetic state of affairs now for almost 2 decades.
Literally the greatest football team to ever walk the earth.
And we don’t even ask for that anymore. We simply demand competence as we should. The fact we care enough to demand it is a source of pride not one of shame for “lack of support.” ****, **** near everyone here was elated with a major bowl berth last year as was I. I loved last year. It’s not like we’re delusional. The problem dawning on us now it seems like that “program changing” moment vs notre dame looks more and more like Golden’s win vs UF or Randy’s vs FSU. An illusion.
Always demand competence and always appreciate what Butch Davis and HIS recruits gave to this program.

Not to mention Erickson left a depleted roster. Other than Ray Lewis and Yatil ‘My Hammy’ Green were there any star are players?

Erickson (Who was a NOTORIOUS Lazy recruiter) Recruited TERRIBLY in 93 & 94...He Won 2 NCs with 95% JJs Kids..
How Ironic that it was Butch who closed the deal for JJ with those Kids..

You can find bad losses and good wins for any coach.
In year FIVE Butch lost three straight including a loss to unranked East Carolina at home then got spanked 43-10 by Virginia Tech later that season.
His last full season at Georgia Richt beat ranked Auburn, Clemson, Georgia Tech and Louisville.
Cherry picking is not a good measuring stick of any coach.

Yep. I wasn’t opposed to Richt, and wasn’t opposed to Butch as the replacement for Golden. None of the other names inspired me. I don’t know if Butch would have repeated his recruiting bonanza or not. Maybe the transition would have taken a different trajectory. I do think we would be better in this year, his year 3, than Richt’s year 3.

German was an all time tease. Never did much consistently as I recall.
Jones was a solid Center.

KC was an AA....Jammi (smfh) never panned out...But was Completely Untouchable in HS...USA Today HS Player of Yr in 93
