I like Butch and would not mind seeing him coach here. Most are aware I do not support Richt. Time to end the exaggerations on his sanctions though. The U lost 31 ships spread over 2 years. Some went to other sports. The football team lost 13 the first year. They could still have 72 on ships. The second year ths football team lost 11. They could have 75 on ships that season. Very bad yes but not 31 at once like some here insinuate in their posts. I am all for supporting him. but do not see the necessity of exaggerating when it was **** bad as it was.

Nobody EVER said 31 at once...
 
If you were there you would know better...

PDee self imposed 5 scholarship losses before the NCaa came up with theirs.
Recruiting was ****... the first year, every one including SI (which a powerful voice back then) and ESPN hacks like Beano Cook, were pulling for a death penalty like SMU.... including a bunch of our own faculty...
We had a bowl ban....
No coach wanted to come here... Butch was the 5th choice ....
It is easy to look back now after the fact and say it was only blah, blah blah number of scholarships..
You had no idea how bad it was in Coral Gables...
I was there and we had no hope of getting back especially with all the negative recruiting...

The article is clueless..

You are absolutely correct about the other items him listed. It was **** did a few years. I was simply referring to the 31 number that is repeatedly thrown out.

I was here when Gustafson got nailed for buying a couple of poor coal miners kids train tickets for a recruiting trip and lives through all the highs and lows since. No one person I hate more than labaturd.. One of the few people I have ever literally hated.
