The TD that wasn't

Per the rules, he has to make a football move: fend off a defender, tuck the ball, pitch the ball or be able to. He did none of those. All he has to do was tuck it and if 28 ripped it out after the tuck it doesn’t matter.

Kept control long enough to perform an act common to the game, such as tucking it, turning upfield, or warding off a defender (Rule 2-4-3-a).

If a defender lits up a player after he stepped out of bounds it’s a penalty because the play is over right?

But in this case, Lofton catches, gets two feet in, steps out of bounds, play is over, then loses the ball and it’s incomplete?

Miami got hosed. If that was the correct call, change the ******* rule bc it’s braindead

Need to hand the ball to the ref after the play now! That was ridiculous. Where was the live view of “The ACC Review Team” like they have been boasting about all season “behind the scenes for the sake of complete clarity”. I question everything about that play! It was a TD and this NBC broadcast is complete Irish sucking off crap!
Right?? Where was the “unprecedented transparency” tonight??

This is exactly what they wanted. They got controversial calls throughout the game.

And remember, the gambling industry had the game at Notre Dame -7 and the over/under at 57.5.

31-24 final (ND -7, so its a push. No one wins except the casinos who collect the vig).

Total points = 55.

How do they always know? lol

Pretty sure a NFL receiver did this and they ruled against him? Cant remember who

Bull**** then. Bull**** now
Problem is the rules are different. You only need one foot in college he had two. Unbiased opinion it's grey area because there was no ground to survive but it was bang bang so hard to overturn the ruling on the field. Biased opinion the ACC is sucking up to the devil's **** suckers 🤷. Unbiased opinion again, we coach too frequently like we aren't the better team. When we let our guys play free and loose it looks different. Coop sure as **** looked like that dude to me, Lofton looked like that dude to me. Malachi is clearly the guy but we have all conference players turn them loose. Also more Dre and free Spafford. Pretty sure I saw Paris and no Spafford 😑. When you are down the slot king maybe try the slot that always looked good In his absence. Daylyn is talented but his confidence seems to be shaken a bit. Hopefully he figures it out, **** them drops next play it is what it is

Touchdown in the nfl, touchdown in any other college game, touchdown in high school, touchdown in some random *** U40 flag football league full of fat and funky dudes looking to reclaim their pride

Just not in south bend. Gotta keep possession for no less than 30 yards out of bounds to ensure it’s secure
Didn’t X or one of our WR’s get screwed the same way a couple years ago? Caught it at the 1, dove into EZ, ball came out as he landed.

Ruled that he did survive the ground.

Stupid rule in the EZ. Runner jumps over pile, ball noses over EZ, then gets it swatted out while he in the air. TD.

Using a “football move” to rule in the EZ is dumb. It’s a TD at possession, you’re not making a football move, you’re already there.

He put one foot down in the end zone, then another. Then took a third step out of bounds before the ball was knocked loose. It’s a catch.

Why did the broadcast rules analyst not say one word about it? Because it’s an NBC team. But he sure got busy on the non targeting call.

Is scoring a TD not considered a football move now?
