Really made me mad. Why did we pull James off coverage to blitz. The guy cake walked in for a td. Terrible design. This was the only play tonight I was mad at.

the real question is why he let them off the hook with the timeout. let them spike it and then get your subs in or call timeout after that. he gave them a free 4 seconds and a down.

It’s a staple of Diaz defense to blitz the safety every third and long. Just as it’s a staple for the offense to have the rb stand there literally twirling his thumbs waiting to safety to get in the backfield. Blitz been getting picked apart for td’s all season.

The continued, routine every other play call and wasted down, of a RPO/delayed shotgun hand off to Knighton up the middle and into the teeth of the defense also is a play that ****es me off.

There were a number of bad plays in this one.
1. The 4th down, where we muddle huddle and go under centre...not our strength...
2. The fake punt. We can't get a punt blocked up at all so there is no way a fake should catch us. Fire Patke, he is terrible as special teams coordinator.
3. Every 3rd down play they ran mesh and we played zone. They dropped more than they made, but they could have had a lot of 3rd down completions.
4. Any run on second and 10.
5. Any time we had a light box and tried to run horizontally. we had number counts and never hit it downhill, never even really tried. Brown did it at the start of the 4th and we were in 2nd and 6. You have the entire playbook open at that point, you can run on 2nd then.
We needed some breaks this week to get a win, which is great, but we are some much more athletic than NC State.

Lets not forget the whole reason NC State got the ball back with enough time to drive down field was Lashlee going into his scared little boy coaching mode.
He called a pretty good game overall but that series with 2 minutes remaining was horrid. All of us in the game chat were calling it in real time.
