So quickly people on here forgot about these two. I have no bad feelings for butch now but he abandoned that team and the program and I don't think the BOT forgot

If Cristobal hadn't bailed, maybe he would've been interim coach when Golden got fired and then given the permanent head coach position. Everything happens for a reason.

Instead of working to get everyone behind the new coach, the potatoes here want to bring up ancient history.

Just another troll prost.

Where is your banner now....

Who give shiat what you think. You have made a total ask of yourself, you should just go away.

I am pretty sure you said if butch wasnt hired you were done with Miami.

And your the biggest Potato on the the internet. Your an old dude that uses that term wrong every freaking post. I mean that is the definition of a Potato you flammer.

Yes, because no other Canes coach ever left to pursue a pro football gig.

...except for ALL of the great ones! At least Butch left the cubbard loaded. Why is he the only one who doesn't get a pass for moving on? Because the admin hired nothing but stiffs afterwards? Whose fault is that? Maybe they shouldn't have dragged their feet with his new contract.

I laugh at these people who talk like this. Butch got a monster raise.

Would you turn down a huge salary increase to stay at your current job? No, you do what you have to do to take care of your family.

I agree - Big raise AND you to get play on the biggest stage in sports ......not the browns .... the NFL

They all go to the NFL .... all of the good ones

He abondoned the team and program? gtfoh

Paul Dee & Shalala fvcked around for too long and wouldn't extend his contract (imo because of the fight on Bourbon street the night before the UF BCS bowl game in 00).

Why wouldn't Butch take millions more per year to go to NFL?

Sounds like a corch to me.

When he finished addressing his players, Davis asked if any ofthem wanted to speak. None did. None rose to embrace the coach orshake his hand. "Jaws dropping, eyes bugging out," is the wayMcKinnie recalls the scene. "Total shock." Davis walked towardthe door, where Shockey, who had arrived late, was standing. "Helooked at me and gave me a little nod, and I nodded back," saysShockey. "Then he just bowed his head, and he was gone."

True but at least those greats won one before bolting. He could've wrote his own check if he atleast stayed another year and won. Instead he ran to a sh*tty organization and the rest is history.

Not only that, but UM was ******** Davis on his buy-out.

Only traitor here is you, you ****** ******!

Like it or not, both Butch and Mario bled for this U and brought a lot of great memories to us.

Which is a lot more than can be said for your loser ***!

Watch your mouth boy.

Run along now before I make you my bytch, you *** guzzling ******!

Why is it that all of you posters with the cfla tag are a bunch of faqqots. It must be something in the water there.

You shouldn't if the stories are accurate regarding the buy out clause issue.

Either way, the guy had serious incentive to rectify the situation 14 years later, whoever the fault was with....anybody that hates on Butch for securing his financial future when Miami, under their oh so crafty leadership, decided he wasn't worth any reward for what he accomplished getting them to what IN ANY PERSPECTIVE should have been a 2001 National title game against OU...which we would have dominated....is just plain unrealistic and whiney.

All said, maybe given his time away from the game and other factors, Richt was the "safer" hire as my non-Canes friends tell me....I just hope in 4-5 years we are not regretting taking the safer route. Butch had absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Regardless, anybody who was still crying like a ***** over his departure in late 2000 in an effort to justify him not being a candidate now is no better than any other jilted little harlot.

UM
