The State of Miami

Fitzgerald treats a football in the air as something that the DB and WR are both trying to catch. That is not what 99% of DB’s do. They feel like they are defending the player. Bryce just waits for the ball to be thrown and he acts like the WR. As though the pass was thrown to Bryce.
this is why im so high on Dunnigan and the wyman kid from ga in this class.... go check those kids offense tape it looks like bryce's from last year. I think Wyman may have had 12-14 tds this year...Dunnigan was doing whatever he wanted to in kansas.

I'll start making HOF comparisons when I see him lay the wood. Poyser and Thomas may not get as many interceptions, but they have been money in both pass and run support. Fitz needs more work. But man is he a special athlete with crazy crazy upside.
Game is so different now. This kid will improve much like Reed freshman year to nfl years. Fitz has wheels/make up speed which is the biggest reason he impacts games.

We are talking about where Bryce is in comparison to Reed as a freshman. That’s the only comparison that can be made. Everything else about Bryce is conjecture, and everything about Reed is already in the books.

Dare I say it, he's got a Ed Reed like nose for the ball. Not saying he's Ed Reed, but he's got that "it" factor that you simply can't teach. You either have it or you don't.
I was thinking to myself he might have the best ball skills at safety since Reed. Who else? Maybe Merriweather? It’d be a short list naming the guys ahead of him.

Let’s slow down… we have some nice recent safety’s he’s looked similar. Kitchens and Jaquan maybe… ed reed is pretty huge
His ability to track the ball is similar to Kitchens yes. But let's be honest neither Kitchen or Johnson are the athlete Fitzgerald is and you are that is his ability to cover and recover.

Didn't Fitzgerald run and 10.6 100m coming out of Highschool? He is a special athlete at safety who turns into WR when the ball is in the air

If I had to rank all 4 as freshman (and I believe Reed redshirted so he has that advantage), it would be:
1a. Bryce
1b. Kichens
2. Reed
3. Jaquan

As I stated earlier, anything after freshman season for Bryce has yet to be written. But I watched every game Reed played and he was definitely not as impactful as a RS freshman as Bryce is as a true freshman. But Reed improved so much year after year that by his junior season, most of us felt he was the best UM safety since Bennie Blades.
