The State of Football in Florida

I remember both the Adm and large portion of CIS posters didn't want him

Of course they'll both deny it now.
I was conflicted, any coach who thinks he’s above recruiting scares me. However he’d be the most qualified game day coach we’ve hired in decades.

At least you have the courage to admit it.

I also remember most here raving about Manny, his demeanor and attributes ad nauseam on why he's our best choice. Completely overlooking the fact that he never played the game and has always been a one year wonder that's been fired repeatedly.

Frankly, I don't trust most CIS fan evaluations of coaches because most are so childish, biased, and completely irrelavant. So are current players evals of coaches

The Adm is clearly clueless

So who does that leave?

I'd go with former players that have played on CFB or NFC Championship teams judgements

And if we don't make some major changes, that 7-5 program will bring in the P5 talent and surpass us. From the President down to the equipment manager, they are comitted to having a winning football program. I don't think we can say the same about Miami.
As someone who has/had a few players at UCF, and has visited their football building a few times, I can tell you that they are extremely committed to having a winning football program. I can't speak for the current staffs at each school, but the last staff UCF had absolutely **** on ours...coach for coach.
Their fvckin' Special Teams Coordinator had more defensive coaching experience than anybody on our defensive staff. LOL

I know we laugh at them and consider them one of our little brothers, but people used to laugh at Miami too before the right coach came in here and changed the perception of the program. That made us relevant for the next 20+ years.

Well it's now approaching 15 years that we've been trash and if we continue on this path we'll become irrelevant once again. We'll be perceived as a program that doesn't care about football anymore, and the fans/fathers who uphold/talk about our legacy will be gone. Very few people who saw GOOD Miami football will be alive or have any influence... and the kids/recruits will DEFINITELY be too young to remember. We're already seeing that NOW. Most teenagers today don't look at Miami as one of the elite programs. The overall perception of Miami football around the local HS football community is that we're clueless, can't recruit, can't develop, don't care about football, etc. (I'm referring to HS football media guys, HS coaches, players, etc)

If we continue on this path then Miami's spot as "one of Florida's elite programs" is ripe for the taking.
One more fvcked hire and it'll make it 20+ years that we've been mediocre!

ucf will be a 7-5 program until they bring in p5 talent.
UCF will be in for a rude awakening when they go to P5. They aren’t as talented as everyone likes to think. They’ll give up 40 a game. And that offense is something that conference sees every week.

But I bet they try their best to get better. More than Miami can say.
