Shoop, Simpson, Robinson, Williams, Patke, DVD, Stroud, Rumph...

Diaz has surrounded himself with some qualified people. He should name co-DCs and choose a play-caller (Robinson has the edge imo) before the season.

I am fine with that, just not sure why he'd want to with multiple former DCs and co-DCs already in place. Since announcing he'd call plays he's added Shoop, Simpson, Williams while managing to rid himself of Baker. He had to name himself DC with Baker still around. People would not have settled for any less. But with all of these new faces it's the perfect time to hand things off to his new staff imo.

There's no need for hand-holding. I'm sure that the construct within the defensive meeting room will remain intact in terms of everyone (including him) having a voice, but the ability to focus on game management instead of intensely focusing on down/distance/personnel/etc for half the game seems like an obvious advantage.
 
Manny continues to make moves in the offseason. Last offseason's moves paid off in terms of wins, I'm pretty confident this years moves will as well. I'm getting my hopes up more than I probably should be, but in my view we are in the best position we've been in many years.

A ten win season and a top ten class are very doable with this staff and team. Do that and we could be legitimately rolling.

Manny still making moves and as someone said the FCS hasn’t even played yet..he has one more sopt to play with and we all know who that is..just because we all want it to happen in the next 15 minutes doesn’t mean that fits Manny’s agenda.

‘With everything Manny has done these last two off-seasons I’m not gonna doubt him a bit.Let Manny do what he’s gonna do and if it ends up with him calling the defense then he’s willing to put his job on the line cause another year like last year on defense ain’t gonna fly not with the money he’s been given to hire all these studs he’s hired cause I’m sure they didn’t come cheap.

It’s time for Manny to pay off on all this off-season good he’s done and if he thinks the payoff comes with him calling the defense then that’s on him..it’s his career.
