Is this program cursed???

Has someone put a Hex on Us....

What do we need to do to reverse the curse....I never seen anything happen to a
program for a straight decade like Miami...

We are not cursed. It's a continous trend of not hiring proven coaches who know what they are doing and know how to run a team.

We have terrible ADMIN (including the president) who don't know how to run an athletic department. Combined with the fact that these people love to micromanage and you have an awesome combination of incompetence.

When people struggle with a task, they should bring in someone who is competent for help. The best thing they can do is bring in a real AD who is competent and passionate about athletics. Then the admin and president need to have their hands off the athletic department.
 
No it's not cursef this is what it is. Administration is extremly happy with being a subpar team. We are in the ACC a basketball conference.

Don't know if they're happy. But, I don't think being a middle of the pack participant bothers them much. I think we have a Wake Forest attitude.

I honestly don't think they're happy. I just think they're not competent to fix the situation (i.e. stop hiring retarded incompetent coaches).

Put the voodoo dolls away, Papa Legba. The only thing cursing this program is bad HC choices. There's no voodoo. Hire a great HC, and UM will be right back.
 
No. Lots of programs have gone through a decade or more of down years and rebounded with the right coach. Look at USC or Bama. **** look at FSU. Believe it or not they went through a very similar stretch as us from about 02-11. They had zero seasons with less than 4 losses for those 10 straight years.

This is the answer. It starts and ends with the President. It's that simple.
 
I think to a large extent the old adage "you get what you pay for" applies to our athletic program's problems. Especially when you compare coaching salaries and the university's investments in equipment and facilities. It's not that our facilities are bad, it's more that they're just not on the same level as the top competitors. Couple that with poor hiring decisions for coaching staff and a limited pool of top notch coaches willing to coach here (here salary does come into play), you get what we've got. Unless the U makes some major commitments in terms of money and support for the program, or we get really lucky with an unknown or just starting out coach, I just don't see a lot of improvements happening to our lack of success on the field.

Ive been a fan fan and supporter of the U since my freshman year there in 1965, and I've seen many high and low points in the program. Things can turn around but not without some real effort and support from the president on down. Regardless, I'll always pull for my Canes.
 
Simple math. Ever since Donna has taken office all sports have gone down except for a magical run two years ago with MBB. (WTN has found a way to remain competitive)

Men's Tennis is a prime example. They are awful for being a warm weather school and elite academic institution. Based off of other tennis powerhouses, Miami has everything in the making to dominant. Coach Rincon has been here a decade and all mediocre results with the resources that most tennis programs would die for. It starts up top and trickles down.
