Joe is a stud. Gus can only get better. Chocolate is stud. Tucker looked better than Gus last spring. And Walton would have been the #1 RB in the Nation if he didn't reclassify.

Walton is elite... Please don't let anyone tell you different.

Crown em. Having one good unit is helpful, doesn't matter when the play-calling is terrible and the defense allows 400 yards rushing per game.

RB depth is fine. Replacing Johnson's production is not happening. Even still, Yearby/Edwards/Walton/maybe Gray will be the only guys getting carries in conference games. Walter Tucker or anyone else won't be getting any carries barring some nightmare injury scenario/miraculous leap in skill/the 4th quarter vs Bethune Cookman.

Yeah but....FSU got two studs...Gators got two studs....Notre Dame got two studs...Even NC State got two studs....We got one and ran off 3 to become studs at the aforementioned...

We will be fine... Actually very good at running back. If yearby had gotten the same amount of carries as cook he would have had about the same amount of production as well. Gus edwards is vastly underrated and he has great speed for his size and will surprise ALOT of people with a larger role. Walton will see a lot of time as well, he was the most complete back in south florida last year. Gray is a wildcard. Don't know where he will be on offense but regardless he needs to be on the field.

Walton runs in the 4.5-4.6 range most likely. You can watch his tape and tell that he isn't that fast.

Hopefully Walton has more success but I see another Yearby vs Cook type of situation.

Straight delusion. There is nothing to support your claim that yearby would have matched Cook's production with more carries. Cook was lightning in a bottle last year. He was incredibly dynamic, as evidenced by how much FSU's offense improved with his increased workload.

Yearby was solid, and performed well spelling Duke. But he is not in the discussion for explosive plays compared to Cook.

And Gus is not vastly overrated. He's serviceable, but still needs to lower his pad level to use his size.

I think the RB position is the least of our worries now that we got Walton. I expect one of Walton, Gus, or Yearby to develop into good to great back and that should suffice. The fact that they have a stud QB with them also helps the cause vastly.

why does this board waste a thread on a position that is meamingless right now? Our OC cant call a game beyond the first scripted 15 plays of the game. Our OC cant adjust, our DC cant adjust, out DL cant get pressure, our DBs never look for the ball, etc...etc..

lol @ obsessing over RBs.

Yall love to praise the players we don't get but bash the ones we do get. Backward a** fans. Yearby had a higher yards per carry average than cook and if he didn't have Duke in front him and got more carries he would easily have had over 1000 yards. He did very well coming off of a broken ankle that was probably not all the way healed....

I expect the RBs will be a solid but unspectacular group next year. They aren't going to be able match the production of last year, so Kaaya, Dobard, Waters, Scott among others will need to make a "jump".

Basically another reason to expect a total disaster this year.

It doesn't work like that. When did Yearby accrue his stats? Who was his comp? Yearby picked up a lot of his yards against the worst defenses on our schedule. UNC, Fam and Cincy. He's good but he isn't better than Cook. To be fair, he doesn't have to be. I don't think he would have ran over 1k if you replaced him with Cook. Cook is a physical specimen that can ball... Yearby is a good ball player that needs to develop... I think he will eventually be a 1k back but to assume he would have done that because he mopped up UNC, Cincy and Fam is a flawed theory.

Yea we had Duke and FSU didn't have a running back as talented as Duke. However, if Cook came here he would have carried the rock a lot more than Yearby.

True but who was cooks competition? Karlos Williams? A safety playing running back? I see why he got all those carries at fsu.... I don't see why people are underselling yearby like that, like he ain't one of the best backs out of south Florida. Yearby does a number of things better than Duke such as hitting the holes faster, vision is better and he is quicker than Duke. He will get faster while training under swasey. They always do...
