Opening game against the (supposed) 8th ranked team in the country.
New HC, new OC, new offensive system, 2 freshman tackles, and a RFR QB's first ever start.
We knew going in the challenges all of the above presented. I won't make excuses for the obvious mistakes. It is what it is.
What I was encouraged by is Jarren's poise under constant pressure. On TV, close-ups of his eyes showed him focused and not a deer in the headlights. He threw some dimes and had a few drops that may have changed the outcome.
There were several explosive plays that shows the potential of our offense.
The defense was solid. Take away the 2 big pass plays and the gaytor O was a non-factor.
The team did not quit. They kept battling and **** near pulled off the upset even with all the mistakes.
