The Perfect Rankings Tonight!

Georgia or Tech would probably still be in.

It is what it is. We don’t have to love it, but we can’t do anything about it.

I would just be happy that we had a fair shot. In this scenario, other teams have to earn their way in over us. If they do, hats off to them.
Tech is 100% in if they lose to BYU. Our last hope of avoiding the 2 big12 bid screwjob after the CGs died when WVU **** the bed against TTU

I'm going back and forth on it, I just don't have faith they'll actually put us in
One good thing is that the narrative seems to have shifted. At the beginning of the season miami looked like the best team in the country, then they stumbled and ND got hot and everybody felt like ND looked like the better team, which is true they were playing better during that stretch. Now with the way miami has been playing the narrative has seemed to shift back in miamis favor and the only people seeming to hold out are ND fans or degenerate lifelong miami haters.

They can't say that ND looks better after those two losses, or alabama is better after the fsu loss, and then deny that miami got get better after losing because the miami that beat pittsburgh looks even better than the miami at the beginning of the season which is scary to think about for the rest of the field.

#11 & #12 goes to the non power 4 conference winners right?

So if Bama beats UGA, they’ll I’m assuming take ND’s spot at 10.. or whatever spot resulting in ND being pushed out?

Yeah, we must be in the top 8 to 9 in order to be safe it seems after the conference games are over

Yes, Bama and BYU could play their way into the playoff with a win, bumping ND and us out, assuming they both win.

If only one of Bama or BYU lose, just ND is out.

This would be great but they’re not dropping Alabama a spot for covering on the road in the iron bowl. They don’t have the balls for that.
I think they might. It’s way easier to argue that than any other nonsense — such as ND being 3 spots higher than Miami.

Makes sense

Like someone mentioned on here some days ago.. they need to just go ahead and redo the whole top 12.. put us in the top 6 to 8. Where we really belong

Would be nice but it won’t happen. I think this is our best hope, and again, it solves most of the committee’s problems.

Even if they do this to BYU it should be enough assuming they lose. Then it comes down to 2 spots between Miami, ND and Bama. I think we win the H2H vs ND now

Struggled against a weak Auburn team. Wouldnt be that crazy

This is the s*** that drives me crazy. Any top 25 team that struggles to beat a sub .500 team, without a friggin coach, drops in the rankings. Especially when there are teams behind them that are beating ranked teams by 31 points. If Miami was #10 and Alabama was #12 and Miami went down to the wire with Va Tech while Alabama throttled #22 Texas they would absolutely jump Miami. But there's not even a discussion that Alabama should drop. No discussion that their last 4 major games are:

USCe (4-8) - 29-22
LSU (7-5) - 20-9
Oklahoma (10-2) - 21-23 L
Auburn (5-7) - 27-20

If that was the back half for Miami we would be absolutely cooked. That is a terrible, terrible end to a season. A loss and then an average margin of 1 score to teams with a combined record of 16-20. They beat 8-4 Missouri by 3 points. They lost to FSU. Alabama is not a better team than Miami. I'm sorry.

Interesting thread and would help us tremendously... ignore his flawed logic about ND vs Miami being a moot point.

This says that vegas has Bama and the bubble teams as follows tomorrow:

9. Alabama
10. ND
11. BYU
12. Miami

THis basically avoids the option of BYU beating TTU in the Big 12 and eliminating bama from the playoffs in the case bama loses the SEC championship.

Now If BYU loses its a moot point but instead could be the final straw for the following rankings in the selection show and the last show always needs drama.

TTU wins the Big 12
UVA/ Duke Wins the ACC
Georgia wins the SEC

9. Alabama
10A. ND
10B. Miami
11. ACC champ/G5
12. G5

Final 4 teams in, what bigger shock for the last selection show than the comitte snubbing ND from the playoffs? ND is not in a conference and ESPN 's only interest is TV viewership for the playoffs but also ESPN is in business with the ACC... Seems like our best bet to be in

Interesting thread. Maybe the second best outcome we could hope for, but on what grounds do you move Bama above ND? That would make zero sense based on the trajectory of both teams the last month.
