The past ten years doesn't matter

Mark Richt is not Nick Saban or Pete Carroll. How many accounts did you go through before you figured that iut?
Not sure what that brilliant reply has to do with anything. Care to disagree with what I said and have an intelligent arguement?

Stop using the previous decade of horrible coaching as an excuse for the (valid) concerns some of us have.

I get it, if you are thrilled with 10 wins and the coastal you have every right to be. It was a hella fun season. But some of us diehards expect more, and although I'm not a Richt guy, the trends are actually there for us to be better, IF we can get more out of the offense and third down defense.

Don't believe me?

In the ten years prior to Richt we went 71-56. Thats a 56% win rate.

USC in the ten years prior to Pete Carrol went 65-52. A 55% win rate.

Alabama in the ten years prior to Saban went 67-55. A 55% win rate.

Both the Trojans and the Tide went 11-2 in their second season of their renaissance, winning the 'ship in the third year.

I hope Richt finally breaks through, and follows the same trend. But if he doesn't, don't blame it on the previous ten years. IT DOESNT MATTER.
So, you're saying we are going to win the NC this year? Cool.

Not saying we would have ever had that luxury, but taking 13 years off after what really should have been 3 straight championships...as a small private school, well...

I went over to a Clemson site today looking at the DT that might be interested in Miami...the top two stories?

1. Venables reaches the $2 million club as all Clemson assistants get raises...

2. Clemson recruiting budget has tripled since 2010.

Says it all right there.

This. If fans desperately want Miami to compete with the Alabamas and Clemsons of the football world, they better start putting their money where their mouths are. These schools have almost unlimited budgets because of big money boosters and rabid fan bases that sell out 80,000 seat stadiums weekly. Meanwhile, Miami sells out once a year and has to start a gofundme campaign just to get the money for an indoor facility.

Won’t happen.

But our fans will double their fire the coaches traffic on social media. Just not the contributions. But actual contributions to even come close to the Clemsons much less the Alabamas and UGAs of the world? Not happening. But they’ll bltch about us not keeping up financially with them not realizing the irony. Just look at the landing page for the IPF, getting the last few hundred thousand is like pulling teeth.

Miami is not going to ever spend or have money for football like Alabama or Clemson.

It’s cliche season! Check off all the boxes boys!

The past ten years absolutely matter. Recruits have been watching and they’ve never seen Miami as a contender. This was the first time they’ve ever seen Miami win ten games without watching a documentary.
You’re not gonna flip a switch and change that. It’s gonna take time showing that you are legit. It’s gonna take winning 9 games, then 10 games, getting a good class, then showing you can win 11 games and make a good run in the conference championship game. I’m not seeing any schools that were terrible for ten years make an instant jump on the scene. The last one was Bama and they hired Saban

Numbnuts, Clemson has to spend more money recruiting than Miami. They have to travel a lot more than we do. Plus, we have a staff filled with mediocre *** clowns.

Leading candidate for post of the year.

You really think travel expenses is the bulk of the budget? These kids notice when there's no on campus stadium. In actuality, Miami has to spend more to make up for the fact that we DON'T have a stadium! The IPF is STILL not fully funded and that's AFTER our head coach pitched in a cool MIll to inspire people. Marcus Lemonis promised to give 50% of every dollar donated! STILL! NOT FUNDED! Our fan base is a bunch of cry babies! We can't seem to appreciate progress! When you demand more without contributing, it isn't "high expectations" it's "self entitlement."

Not sure if you are talking about me but im old and dont have time to troll. Been Waterburycane on this site since 2011 and grassy since like 99 or so

We were apparently 22-1 in the regular season. I mean, if we count a win against a Sunbelt team that we didn't play, shouldn't we be credited with wins against all the Sunbelt teams we didn't play?

Asking for a sane friend. We were really screwed in te final poll.

Saban did nothing special in his 3rd year at michigan st. or LSU. It's easy to make a negative point by cherry picking 2 sinarios in the last 16 years and leave out the 100's that don't fit his implication. It took Dabo 7-8 years to get a NC. That would be a more fair measuring stick. Most fair minded people believe Richt is a year ahead of schedule. We are still 1-2 years away from being in the NC conversation every year and thats ok.

What a dumb stretch.

Some of you all forget how hard it is to win a ship. Look how good Clemson has been in the last decade. They have one. Michigan is in the discussion every year. Nothin'. Where is Texas? Where is ND?

The simple truth is that all any team (except maybe Bama) should hope for is a reasonable shot at the playoff. I will take that every year. ****, we played for a spot this year.

Are you a flat earther? Do you understand what MSU was before Saban? I am sure you're aware of the probation? Do you know how bad LSU was before Saban? How about Clemson?

Did you look anything up?
