I don’t know if that guy is in the roster. I think our fans have hyped our DL like crazy.

We got a lot of bodies but not the elite that we are all looking for. Do we have any top 3 round NFL DL? I don’t think so

Not to sure of the game plan against the pass game defensively yesterday..

You have a QB that got rid of the ball super fast, but played the CBs 10 yards off the ball.. also, like mentioned.. seems to be the less blitz game I’ve noticed.

I think the bigger problem is dropping the D Ends and using our LBs to cover.

Ends need to be rushing. Our LBs aren't good enough. Flagg and Mauigoa consistently get cooked.

We didn't blitz vs Temple.

Maugioa consistently gets cooked? Don’t know about that

Miscommunication & blown coverages is major concern. Better teams and competent QB will take advantage for big gainers or easy TDs.

Everyone is hoping is Kelly, just hasn’t happened yet

No doubt. Mesidor is potentially part of the answer off the edge. Deen isn't likely to solve that problem though.

Don't forget Kelly is also out. He would help on the edge.

Our pass rush is anemic without Messidor, Kelly, and Deen. Which is also worrisome because none of those guys missing are pass rush specialist either. Messidor being the most talented of the bunch but not elite by any means.

Yesterday I saw some corner blitzes being called from Pittsburgh also which was reminiscent of Manny.

We’re going to learn a lot against g tech

Not a big fan of our philosophy on the back end of our defense. A lot of soft coverage and spot dropping...leaves large open windows in the zones.
CB's playing a ton of off coverage, giving up easy throws.
The commentator yesterday even said something about it and mentioned that Cristobal apparently wanted to see us challenge receivers more at the line.

I even remember seeing a few disgruntled faces on the sidelines after our CB gave up an easy 9 yard hitch route on 3rd down playing off coverage.

What to do different then?

I don't know much about Ga Tech except that they're better than Temple, Bethune, and Miami OH. I think we'll find out more against UNC.

They don't have the running game they had when they gashed us for 600 yards, but Mayes is probably the best QB we'll face all season.

I don't think you can use the excuse of of the talent, when last season this group was basically a top 10 pass rush unit nationally.

Meaidor, Deen, and a healthy Kelly will obviously help this unit.

Need to see it though!

Three starters on dline and all American safety out need will cause adjust to game plan a bit and a bit of a drop off. What I see is 7pts. I think they did pretty well considering.

I’m not a defensive guru but yesterdays plan looked different to me than what we’ve seen most of the year

Things were way too easy for Warner where I’ve not seen that in the first few games

Didn’t seem like Guidry dialed up nearly as many blitzes yesterday.

All this talk about a lack of pass rush. What I remember is the A&M QB getting bludgeoned By a variety of pass rush plays. Pretty sure Guidry knows how to draw up something when he needs it. He hasn’t needed it lately.
