The optimism in this fan-base is clearly some type of mental illness

You’re correct, but this illness affects all fan bases. Go back and read some of the FSU message board posts when they first saw Willie dancing at practice. They were convinced that he was about to take over college football. Fan is short for fanatic.......

Time will tell if Diaz is the right hire but right now we are going into the UF game and 2019 with a HC with zero HC experience. Co-defensive coordinators with my no DC experience and an AD that makes his decisions in less time than takes to binge watch a Netflix series.
I just think the University of Miami deserves better. Im not upset with Diaz, it’s a great opportunity for him. I’m upset with James. I guess it’s true, no one really wants to work over the holidays. Add the $4 million it’s going to take to buy Manny out for two weeks of work and this is a disaster. That’s money that could have gone towards completing the IDTF or another project beneficial to the university.
 
Wait wait wait...weren't you that guy vehemently defending Rick and his 95th ranked offense all season? Now, they hire a guy who, at the very least, has ran a far more successful unit than Richt ever has at any level and you hate the move?
It's confirmed: you're Jon Richt. Good luck on the job search Jon. Maybe Mark D'Onofrio can hire you to coach QBs on his boys and girls club team.

True enough, our admin's track record isnt stellar, but I'm not prepared to ***** on Diaz's name or reputation just because the coach I wanted wasn't hired. And for the record, I wanted Babers or Leach.

Then just say it and also say this admin is a total fvckup with Jake Blames leading the way. What other fan base would endorse hiring a current DC off of a 7-6 failed season for the second time? I thought we learned our lessons from Randy nope let’s give it another go because we are so competent at our jobs.

My arguments for CMR were as follows:
He was successful at UGA
The offense was not as bad as people remember in 2017-2018 before injuries got us
Comparing his first 3 years at UGA and Smarts first 3 years they are incredibly similar and UGA didn't bring Smart in to be CMR 2.0

You have an issue with any of that?
