Regardless of CFP committee, this should always have been the mentality.
Has always been a pet peeve of mine when a coach calls off the dogs. Its disrespectful to his own team imo. Put the backups sure, but dont mail it in.

He needs to stay the **** out of the offense besides OL. Not that it would have stayed that way, but we had the #1 offense in college in Mario's 1st season with TVD until the bye week after week 4. Then changing to inside zone and TVD ruined it. This season his decision's hurt the offense from week 1. Besides this and game day decisions I am mostly very happy with Mario. My only complaint with the team right now, knock on wood we get in the playoff, run some tempo, please. 30 seconds to snap the ball every play is killing me, killing me. Let's go, coach.

Absolutely. Go with aggression. It's better to lose a game or two swinging, and obliterate everyone else, than trying to grind it out every time you have two possession lead.

I’m gonna go back in my history on and off the board for the last three months and post all of the comments. Ha. The sad ones were the ones that justified it because ‘it worked’ and ‘we were winning.’
Sure, everyone wants more aggression, but that’s not only what we’ve been saying. We’ve been saying take more risks. Release control. By formation, playcall, and game situation, you can always show you’re in it to kill or ‘just grind it out.’ There is an entire thread on this from months ago.
Oh well.

Holding back on FSU was a critical mistake. We weren't the same for a month after that. And yes, it appears he learned his lesson. Pour it on. Run it up. Stop being so damned predictable. Caveman football is dead.

Dont wait until its too late to make adjustments...especially to play calling with the personnel that you have.

We were up 21-7 v ND in the third. Should have kept being aggressive, if we blow ND out we're prob ahead of them right now.

Not at all trying to defend Mario here as he ****ed me off plenty throughout the season, but the simple fact remains that we beat ND head to head and that the CFP committee is corrupt as ****, THAT is why we are on the outside looking in.........

It would not matter given how corrupt the CFP skidmarks are. Even if Miami is 11-1, there would still be noise as to why they shouldnt be in, even if playing in the ACCCG. So rigged.

You call off the dogs with 2 minutes left when you're up 20+ pts. Up until that point you maximize the point differential.
