The Ole Miss Thread

Ole Miss feels like a March Madness Cinderella considering the fact their coach isn't even there.

Eventually, the clock strikes midnight. They exhausted the tank just to beat UGA, and we're simply better.

We have to get there and not let Chambliss escape, harder done than said. When the boys at the line are doing their thing, make sure you maintain discipline down the field, he'll escape some, so be ready.

We will have to score better than we have been. Their kicker is a weapon and anything over midfield is in play.

Their team believes and has a bone to pick with the way their coach left them. Seeming like a team of destiny, never out of it, and we need to get out ahead in this game.

Should be a good one. Stay disciplined and execute, we can win this.

I would rather face UGA. Ole Miss is going to be hard.

Dude did you forget the style of football Miami has played since the SMU loss? Run the ball, control clock, limit possessions, play defense. UGA had the 4th ranked run defense, just ahead of Miami. Ole **** is 68th. They give up 4.26 yards per carry. Thats nearly a first down after every 2 runs.

Maybe as importantly- refs would try to give UGA all the breaks. We can win a fairly called game.

imo this was the break we needed to get to the national championship.

Don’t love the matchup.

Don’t love the fact we will be considered the favorites.

Team needs to stay focused. This will not be an easy game. Take care of business — survive and advance.
Run the ball…move the chains. Score touchdowns in the red zone. No turnovers. Long drives.

On defense, it will be the A&M game plan. Have to stop the run and hopefully get them in a third and long to force a punt.

Their defense sucks

Passing and rushing allowed against ok teams
Arkansas: allowed 221 rushing, 305 passing, and 35 points
Washington State: allowed 127 rushing, 218 passing, and 21 points
Georgia: allowed 221 rushing, 289 passing, and 43 points
Oklahoma: allowed 136 rushing, 223 passing, and 26 points
Florida: allowed 108 rushing, 218 passing, and 24 points
Georgia: allowed 124 rushing, 231 passing, and 34 points (Playoff game)

They can be gashed on the ground and the air. They also don’t rotate much in defense so they get worn down late in games, Fletcher should go for 150+ against them.

Some of that is pace of play.
Ole Miss purposely creates a lot of plays. And then has a very explosive offense. So by going fast and gaining lots of yards in single plays, you create more plays run against your defense. When more plays are run, your defense is going to give up more points and yards just from sheer volume of opportunity.

Between that and ESPN already pushing the Indiana Disney movie storyline, we have the chance to crush both Cinderella stories. I couldn’t think of a better way to declare the U is both here and back.

It's a funny one for me.

I know a lot of you are flexing about having to run through A&M, OSU, Georgia and A.N. Other on the way to a National Title, but that's an incredibly hard ask.

I'm glad we're not facing Georgia, but this could so easily be our let down game. A QB doing backyard bull****.

I do actually feel more confident that we can beat them than if we were playing Georgia, but I'm all up in my emotions right now.
I just want OJ, Brown, and Moten back.
