and well, I wanted to get into the holiday spirit...

They all deserved to go. Coker let the machine run out of oil. Shannon should have never been made head coach. Golden was too stubborn to change his ways. Unless this offseason shows changes are made, Richt is just Golden 2.0.

After 3 seasons it’s safe to say He’s already golden 2.9

At this rate, we'll be in the playoffs around 2038.
Mork will still be on the Miami sidelines in a wheelchair and wearing Depends on his 4th five year extension as head coach and losing every year to Virginia and Duke.

As an offensive coordinator, Coker is far better and much smarter than Richt. Anyone remember that game in the Coker era where we came out with an unbalanced line? It may have been against Pittsburgh but I'm not sure. Anyway, that move caught the opposing hc completely off guard and it worked very well. My point is that Richt would be completely unable to ever think outside the box like that.

Since we’re doin this, I have to say, you have the program theory wrong and Coker misunderstood.

This program is not some machine that runs as long as you oil it. That’s precisely the misthinking that gave us Coker, Shannon, Golden and Richt. The theory that says as long as you don’t ***** it up, it will naturally rise.

I would have thought by now fans would understand that the program has only been good when architected by elite coaches. Coker won with 19 first round picks assembled by Butch. If you think that will happen again, you’re delusional. And for all the griping about Butch as a game day coach, he was probably the best talent evaluator ever, assembled the goat cfb roster, assembled a legit staff, and even his Cleveland stint should be viewed in context of how poorly the franchise has looked since then. Erickson was a schematic innovator, 2x NFL head coach, 2x national champion with Jimmy’s guys, and even he ouldn’t ‘keep the machine running.’

We need someone who can ‘build it’, not someone to pour in oil now and then.

Uncle Fester and Radio were decent coordinators. However, they were terrible head coaches and put up lousy records with better talent than Richt.

Somebody tell Richt to stop wearing black he is not Johnny Cash even tho he needs to Walk The Line.
