That's right! You all know who you are! Now line up and kiss El Jefe's ring! The man has done an amazing job and deserves major major props. Give the man the love he deserves!

Thank you coach Diaz for an amazing year! When you got here this defense was in complete disarray! You have brought the Hurricane defense back to the standard where it belongs!

I'll eat crow as well. Defense still plays real Hurricane football, thought they'd be worn down. Just 1 or 2 mistakes and Pitt could easily have had an insurmountable lead with our offense. Rick owes Manny money.

No point in asking or expecting people raise their hands on calling themselves out. People will twist and qualify what they said earlier in the season and throughout. This board was out for Manny's head. Plain and simple. And, there were reasonable concerns. At the time, I thought they were too extreme and said so. I kinda feel like they're going to go too extreme in his favor now, too.

It's not really trying to play both sides; more like just accepting his work for what it's been and what it can be: he's been a wildly aggressive guy who depends on certain things happening for his playcalls to work. What he's become infinitely more impressive at doing is adjusting consistently. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. But, ****, at least there's continuous adjustment.

Perhaps that's a low bar, some will say. I think it's the ultimate judge of modern coaches: do they recognize strengths and weaknesses and quickly adjust? Our yards/play, how we've performed against opponents relative to their season averages, and primarily his 3rd down conversion % turnaround all speak for themselves. Even with a couple overpursuits and a missed tackle on the edge, today was perhaps the defense's most impressive 4 quarter display.

I've bashed Manny once or twice, and damnit I'll do it again if I have too

Big time. Richtirement should have a warm cafe con leche and a Cuban bread toast every morning on El Jefe's desk all off season.

LOL my post wasnt directed at you @LuCane . My post was more about giving the man props for a job well done! You had valid concerns as did many of us. My post is also meant to give Manny respect for realizing the flaws in his base scheme and making the necessary changes.

I’ll never forget the meltdown GoldenShowers/FullyERicht had the day Manny was hired.

I was legitimately concerned for his well being.

Didn't interpret it as at me at all. I wasnt ever out for his head. My posts on him have been consistently in his support, while acknowledging there were holes he had to fill. He acknowledged many of them himself: in what he said and how he adjusted (his actions). That's all we can hope for, really. Imagine if we got that on both sides of the ball.

I'll eat a bit of crow I said this defense was not our biggest problem and not elite , if our offense would improve this defense could be elite5

Manny is what we should seek in UMiami coordinators: imperfect resumes for guys who are risers and err on the side of aggression. The theory would be these guys use elite athletes to put up great numbers in a crap conference and division, make the players look great, themselves (as coaches) look better than what they probably are, and leap after putting up elite numbers. Rinse and repeat. How we cannot somehow pull this off with the obvious advantages we have is an entire case study on poor leadership and talent acquisition (hiring).
