Jimmy Johnson was also a championship coach. You’re terrible at measuring the whole sum of a coach.

If Johnson never won ships than sure, Warren owned him. Butch or Lane have never won ships and Lane is owning him at a similar job. So the only basis to hire Butch over Lane is what happened in the 1990’s and football has changed since.

But for context, we can do better than both.

Right, like the guy who built the best ever team at Miami, Butch Davis. Like your totally missing context that he was robbed of NC by NCAA and the refs at Washington. Zero context. Got it.

Now, we real fans would like to see the guy who has proven that he can build the best team ever here, the 2000-2002 team and has to be robbed of NCAA to prevent championships.
 
Richt is awful and the Butch ship has sailed. No disrespect to Butch intended. We need a new Butch.

Butch was gone in 2000. So maybe you’re still using dial up and haven’t noticed that football changed. But it will have been 19 years since Butch’s last 10+ win season the next time we hire a coach.
