The O deserves the hits it’s taking, but why did the D suck so hard?

Well when you trot 11, 8, 17, 0, 7, 23 out there all the time you are going to have those results.
 
The secondary is awfulllllllllll outside of Kitchens. They don’t communicate and are easily fooled. They aren’t a complete unit just a bunch of individuals. It’s like the CBs are getting coached one way and the Safeties are getting taught something different.

The LBs aren’t consistent and the guys behind them aren’t physically ready yet I guess
 
Bc there aren’t many good players. Best coaches in the world couldn’t fix this defense.

Good coaches would do much better than what’s happening right now though.
 
Man the defense was so bad yesterday. Getting bombed repeatedly. Ivey sucks. Flagg sucks against any team that isn’t a wing t. We also had to bring in Harris and Curtis. Right now those guys aren’t ready at all.

It's true our young cbs are getting picked on and abused by opposing DCs every time they play but so is Ivey,at some point they need to sit him and let the young corners get better.If we go with a youth movement the fans will swallow the Ls a lot easier than losing with the same upper class men.
 
Aside from the secondary, the other major fail was Flagg. If yesterday's game doesn't bench him don't know what else to do. Johnson, Wesley, Gil, and Chase need dramatic increase in reps to improve the overall athleticism on D. In the secondary all we can really do is mix more personnel groupings to hopefully reduce 8's reps but the back end won't be markedly better until we improve the talent via recruiting/portal. We're gonna struggle against good passing attacks.

A lot of the same players from a 7-5 team that was 75th in the nation in yards allowed per game are still playing significant snaps.

Maybe the coaching also stinks. idk. But I've seen DJ Ivey look like **** across multiple coaches. Do they all stink and DJ Ivey is actually good? Some on here would have you believe that is true. Not me, but SOME.
 
Time to see the young guys at LB. If we are going to suck, let's suck with an eye towards sucking less next year. Existing situation clearly just isn't good enough. Reminds me of wanting to see more Webster and Morgan early in their careers..... of course, those guys were animals immediately and we probably don't have that.

Secondary dumpster fire is inexplicable. Every school in southeast America save for maybe Bama and Georgia wanted Williams, Tae, Stevenson, Kinchens, etc. Idk if it's a scheme issue or what but it feels hopeless outside of KK. Same types of problems we have seen for years, through different coaching regimes. Feels like a curse.
