Miami handled Stanford, 79–70, moved to 17–4 on the season, and took care of business. But while the Hurricanes were doing their job on the floor, there was also a big name watching from the stands.

Wonder what Coach Lucas thinks about hosting recruits for games when the Watsco Center is way more than half empty? Sure can't make his job and the recruiting of top players easier.
This will be the reason it will be very hard to keep Lucas. No matter how well they do, its always gonna be difficult to draw fans.

In fairness, Mario Cristobal made a National Championship run in Year 4 with the football program and he didn't play in from of 8 sellout crowds during the 8 home games this season.
What Coach Jai is doing is selling his vision and direction of the program he is running and he is off to a great start.
Selling an opportunity to play early and often will always be more important than playing in front of a sellout crowd.
In fairness, Coach Jai could always blame the poor attendance on the poor play of the program over the past two seasons, which won a combined 22 games over the last two seasons.
I am sure Coach Jai is taking the high road and focusing on the current status of the program and getting to program to his vision under his direction.

Win games and the fans will come. Coach L already proved that. We had a couple years with dang good attendance.

But yeah… current attendance stinks and that is a real obstacle to pulling big time recruits.

The last two seasons under L completely lost all the bandwagon and new fans we built prior to that. Almost feels like we are starting from scratch with the fanbase.
