The Next Shoe To Drop?

This argument is flawed, you have the wrong parties.

Parties:
1. Young athletes off all socioeconomic background, and they all want to get paid.

2. Large swathes of Millenials, aged 18-40, don’t buy the “paid with tuition” argument. Cool beans old timer. The reserve insured student loans, so of course the boomers exploded tuition exponentially and now all of us need to spend $150k just to get the 2019 functional equivalent of a high school diploma. These diplomas are useless. My J.D. cost me a mortgage- the reward? I basically get to start life not homeless. Old timer, your degree was worth a lot, and cost very little. That ***** dead.

3. Very small contingency of old heads near/around the NCAA, raking in tons of cash. This system is perfect for them. Why should they share?

4. And finally, the most stubborn, not even worth a mention because they’ll never change. The super old heads. Life as it was in 1964(when I played Tackle at State) is the same as it is now. You learn about life. And women. And laundry. And probably something about fundamental geometry. Also, there’s 1 tv on campus, and it gets 3 channels. The internet doesn’t exist. We’re reminded about the civil war every time we take a drink of water.

My point: you’ll never ever be able to bring these groups together and appreciate progress in similar ways.
To group #2, I wonder when exploding tuition costs + exploding athletic spending + luxurious player only facilities + knowledge about football related injuries = student protests and politicization about having football teams?

As far as I can see

There would be a lot of players on the current Canes roster who would have virtually no value as an autograph signer, jersey seller, speaker, endorser or anything else. They have no market value. What happens to/for them?
Equal opportunity matters, not equal outcomes. Speaking of equal opportunity, I see this leading to a greater dispersion of talent at the top powers (let me be a star/solid starter and get some $ at a top 25 school for 2-3 years rather than on the bench at Bama for 3), and some trickle down to the middle class of football powers.

But where is the autograph market for a defensive back from Utah? That market doesn't even exist for DBs from Alabama.

You know those Alabama DB's will sit at a table for two hours with nobody stopping by then walk away with thousands of dollars, right?

Yup
But that's why his point was wrong. Guys aren't going to make money by choosing Utah over Alabama.
Yup, this will just provide cover for bigger bags. Players who might have avoided the bags in the past will no longer do so because its acceptable.

Youre being emotional and illogical. The rules were made by the NCAA *caugh* SEC. This is upsetting the apple cart. Deregulation almost always benefits outsiders, and regulations almost always benefit insiders.

BS. The NCAA was around long before this upturn of the SEC.

This won't upset the apple cart. It'll just make it above the table and then there will still be below the table stuff going on.

I keep asking this, nobody has put forth a logical rebuttal to dispute what I'm about to say. Miami fans of any Miami team don't show out for any anything on a consistent basis unless it's for a team in championship contention. We also aren't anywhere near the top of the list when it comes to money coming into the program. Why in the heck do people think that will suddenly change? There's more UF and FSU alum in the local areas, so why does anyone think this would benefit us?

You want this program left in the dust, this will be the straw that broke the camel's back on that. Death rattle here we come.

Head coaches will have "dealing with internal team jealousy" to add to their list of job duties.
