The Next DC

If we pulled Chizik, Raymond and Kuligowski? Wow! Compared to Dorito, Williams and Melvin? I mean...I have no words

Chizik fell flat when Malzahn left Auburn.

Guy is a great defensive coordinator.

SEC position coaches must be familiar w his awesomeness based on Kuligowski and Raymond

Probably at a school without as much talent and without enough money for assistants.

Probably is presently underpaid ($700,000 to be exact)

Tried to get his DLC from prior SEC years but Tracy Rocker stayed at UGA but ended up w a better one.

Still has major Chip on his shoulders and shares the sentiment w Pastor Richt

Finishes season at about 20:30 est today.

My wild off the wall guess is ......

.... Gene Chizik

I may be in the minority, but I don't like Chizik. Other than this year, he's always had great pipelines to talent and never really lived up to the hype.

Chizik has had phenomenal results as a DC everywhere he's been.

Kirk Olivadotti CO-DC & LB
Corey Raymond CO-DC & CB
Craig Kuligowski DL
Todd Hartley Special Teams & S

The rumor that we offered Raymond a "CO-DC" gig leads me to believe we are not hiring a big name guy like Aranda.

"Kirk Olivadotti was a member of Redskins coaching staffs that guided Washington to finish among the top 10 in overall defense in eight of his 11 seasons with the club. In 2009, Olivadotti tutored a pair of linebackers to their first Pro Bowl: 12-year veteran London Fletcher and rookie Brian Orakpo. Fletcher led the Redskins in tackles with 172 and added two sacks, one interception, and 10 passes defended. He eclipsed the 100-tackle mark for the 11th consecutive season.

Throughout his NFL coaching career, Olivadotti has worked with some of the NFL's best defensive coaches including Ray Rhodes, Marvin Lewis, Gregg Williams and Greg Blache. Olivadotti began his NFL coaching career with the Redskins in 2000 as a defensive quality control coach. He served in that role for four seasons and also helped coach the defensive backs. He continued as quality control coach in 2004, but he took on a role assisting Danny Smith and the Redskins' special teams unit. In 2006, Olivadotti's role expanded to working with Blache and the Redskins' defensive line.

I have no idea who the DC will be, but he's already chosen, IMO. Can't see Coach Kool accepting the job without knowing who his DC would be

Obviously since he hasn't been named..Our next DC is still working.. Question / Poll. .is he coaching in the College or NFL ranks?

Glad you back posting again, looking forward to watching Shaq the next 3 yrs. Out of respect for the position you are in, I will not ask you "who" it is. I know you can't say. Respect that. But could you at least tell us if we will be happy? lol Or, since as a whole, we never seem to be happy here. You and Shaq happy with whoever it is? lol
Good luck to you both!

Is there reason to believe he may be out in DC? Why would he leave an NFL LB coach job for a college LB coach job? I don't think the Co-DC title would be much incentive. Not to make that move, at least. Seems like a step backwards.

Richt has connections with both him and his dad. Definitely a dark horse candidate not many have on their radar.

Congrads on your son's awards. Still can't wait to see him run through the Smoke. Who ever it is I want to things: 4-3 and aggression. Do not want a 3-4 at all. Too much need and temptation to turn from speed to bulk. You boy is made to be a Hurricane MLB in a classic 4-3 Cane defense.

As hard as DT for a 4-3 are to find, NTs for 3-4 are even harder. Then you have to fatten up what should be fast 4-3 DTs into fat slow 3-4 DTs and have your DEs dropping into coverage instead of meeting at the QB.

Chizik is a helluva DC. His family is still living in Auburn so it's not like he's tied down at UNC. In fact, it caught my eye when they didn't go with him. Would be interesting to see if he's willing to make the move.
