A mini helmet like that, even with low quality diamonds, would be way more than $2500, you’re probably talking $25,000 and probably more like 50K. Look at how many stones you would have to use

The diamond market is without a doubt the weirdest market there is anyway. Does not conform to any other commodities markets on earth. It is it’s own thing, controlled by one or two cartels, and diamond prices are totally artificial because of this. But also because of this, they remain incredibly stable. Just a really weird market. (although maybe the pearl market is similar, but I think there are few more players in the pearl market)

Yeah, I wasn't thinking when I said diamonds. I guess I just pictured a mini helmet being the size of a softball and when I hear crystal, I think of cubic zirconia or worse. At best diamonique but never expected to see those prices!

Point taken...just the same, $2500 is too much for what amounts to basically glass stones that I’m sure would crack if dropped
