I cannot wait to see how Marcellius Pulliam & Raul “Popo” Aguirre develop in Guidry’s defense. Then boys are head hunters
Levenson hits it to the right fielder better than anyone in the business
I can deal with a 209lb incoming Freshman at LB. Our problem is a lot of our 2nd level kids come in at 190-195, and LEAVE here at 209lbs. Waaaayyyyy to small.Grown men. That’s how you want them to look. No more 5’11 209 pound 2nd level defenders please …

Some of the kids we’ve brought in for the better part of 2 decades have been head scratchers. It’s like somewhere along the way, we forgot “the blueprint”. Get kids that fit your system, and at a school like UMiami, they better be able to run!!!! A UMiami team should NEVER be lacking in speed. Look where the **** we’re located. I still can’t figure out how the **** our track teams ain’t perennially amongst the top schools in the country… (at least the **** sprint teams), but that’s another discussion for another day,Not only small, but small AND slooooooooooooooow.. The nickname we're looking at here is "Popo" .... not "Pop-Up".Levenson hits it to the right fielder better than anyone in the business
the coaches love him“Has alot of tackles on the HS level”
Yep… spoiled by Ray and Vilma. Falsely believing we’ll strike gold again by continuing to recruit 190+lb LBs.Some of the kids we’ve brought in for the better part of 2 decades have been head scratchers. Now…. if the ILBs you normally recruit are 6’2 215, then that’s what you recruit. The caveat being, that the farther he’s away from what you normally recruit, then the faster he better be. If he’s a 5’11 195lb kid, the he better be faster than any LB on your team, and average about 17 tackles a game! If not, you don’t recruit him.
Vilma came in at 6' 195 lbs. Ray not much more than that. But generally, you probably want guys 210+ when you recruit them.Yep… spoiled by Ray and Vilma. Falsely believing we’ll strike gold again by continuing to recruit 190+lb LBs.
This is what concerns me about Malik Bryant as he did a lot of that rush LB stuff in HS. I hope he has what it takes to be a true Mike because we need him to fill that void for the future. And not just be serviceable but highly productive.Vilma came in at 6' 195 lbs. Ray not much more than that. But generally, you probably want guys 210+ when you recruit them.
Most important thing is vision/diagnostic ability (some refer to this as "instincts"). If a kid doesn't have that, highly unlikely he'll be a good LB no matter how big and fast he is. Never liked trying to convert undersized DEs to LB (which was most of Manny's LB recruits).
