Robinson put his name on the map (along with investigations like this) by breaking the Reggie Bush scandal.

There were rumors he was looking into Miami before the story broke.

Remember, before twitter you didn’t really hear from journos outside of articles they wrote and interviews they were a part of.

The rumors were floating dam near a year earlier that there was a story out there coming out soon.

Anyways, give some more snarky ******* tweets he dropped so I can go to his page.. We been waiting on this one for a lil minute.. We didnt forget..

Tim Robinson did too. He went to bat for us a lot throughout the entire ordeal.

Yes.

In one sense, I don't blame Gary for putting him on the show, as CaneSport/Rivals was owned by Yahoo at the time.

On the other hand, I blame Gary for not asking tougher questions, and challenging the "factual support" for the bull**** conclusions.

Prosecutor: You stole $930 million in a Ponzi scheme. We are going after as much restitution as we can recover.

Nevin Shapiro: I can give you $80 million cash [Nevin smirks, knowing full well that he has hidden $800 million]. I spent the other $850 million on University of Miami football players.

Prosecutor: Plea accepted, case closed.

I remember Barry Jackson mentioning some ponzi schemer was airing all of his dirty laundry on UM athletics in his little gossip column. That must have been in 2005-2007ish? And then nothing really came from it. But I remember reading this article when it came out and just going pale. Between that and the Adidas basketball team issue we had some bad luck on unverified hit pieces.
