To me, when people complain about our coaches this kind of stuff is why it's deserved.
We got a true freshman back there catching the punt.
He takes his eye off the ball, muffs it, goes back and — instead of falling on it to ensure possession — picks it up, takes off running and ends up fumbling it away.
Fortunately, we end up getting saved by a flukish penalty on NC State.
It's just the kind of mistake you would expect from a talented young kid on a HIGH SCHOOL team, but it's inexcusable on this level — and it's 100 percent a coaching problem.
I guarantee when Jacolby got to the sideline, the coaches were like, "Man, what you doin'??? You gotta fall on that ball!" as if how could he be so foolish.
But if JG — and all our punt returners — had been properly coached and drilled on this situation, we wouldn't have had some playground-looking **** happening that could've cost us the game.
Inexcusable and, again, completely on the coaches.
