The NCAA won in the end. Stuck us with Golden.

The school did owe Al a debt of gratitude for what he went through with the Shapiro investigation. That debt was PAID IN FULL when he made a run at the Pedo State job.

It's funny how Golden supporters bring up what he had to "go through". Its not like he quietly led us through the investigation. He brought it up as many times as humanly possible, milked out every ounce of sympathy possible, and then tried to leave for the Penn state job.

Not to mention he was getting paid a good amt of money too. Al is smart, he knew he had us by the balls and he could milk the cloud excuse if need be. Also where was he going to go. People make it sound like there were other teams dying to get him.

At this point it would not surprise me one bit if part of the fine print on our "punishment" was having to keep Golden for a few years.

The NCAA REALLY stuck it to us.

1000% correct, sad part is PSU could have taken him and his BFF off our hands but knew better.

During the NCAA mess, he served as a good clean face for the program and was able to bring in talent. He earned his money for those 3 years. That said, he now has no idea what to do with the talent he brought in and he is stealing money this year.

Maybe that was part of the settlement. The NCAA said we will give you a slap on the wrist but, you must extend golden's contract.

I don't buy that BS he continually spilled about being blindsided by the Shapiro thing, that story was out there long before he took the job.
