the most frustrating thing about yesterday...

You probably turned Mario on when he got to "Everything UM does offensively is a grind"

Also I dont see the emphasis on SPEEEEEEEEED yet.. You cant watch Tenn with Hyatt running 10.4 and expect your 4.8 speed guys to duplicate :penguininatux:

Hire guy who has ground and pound philosophy and expect him not to do what he does :ibis-roflmao-sm3:

We are going to have to be supremely talented team and outathlete them, Mario is about talent acquisition and run into wall neanderthal football.. Accept it and hope we can acquire the amount of talent needed and then have the develop quickly enough before younger recruits turn on message to bring in next class.. We not gonna light up scoreboards, that not Mario, he doesnt believe in it..

Oregon got rocked by UGA.... I'm not convinced about them beating up pac 8 teams. I'm more concerned with our offensive struggles and ineptitude. This is embarrassing.

Mario has been heavily influenced by Saban. Saban used to have a plodding offense, but he saw the light. Cristobal needs to open things up, with or without Gattis.

Leaking crap out to cover his *** and blame players is when I was out. Telling the media your qb doesn’t have wr’s numbers was beyond sleazy and we all know why he did it. I knew coming in he was a pretty toxic dude and he hasn’t disappointed.

whoa, hey now...

We are 113th in run/pass ratio. This isn’t smash mouth football. That’s a myth that needs to die. This is a pass-happy offense that sucks at passing.

We need massive, fundamental changes, but the problem isn’t running too much.
Either people don't watch the games or they just choose to ignore what they see so they can post the same stupid **** in each thread

Not absolving him at all. He kind of left Michigan a disgruntled guy claiming that he wasn't being treated fairly. He looks like he does have toxicity following him around. As much diligence as Mario put into researching his hires I wonder how he missed that?

Thats not the point, Mario played there for years and didnt do the same with same team is what the tweet is tryna convey. They can take same level of talent and squeeze more juice out of it. Mario can take a offensive team and bring the level down at miami, lashlee offense was returning the same talent essentially and we have nose dive. TVD look like Kyle Wright and Garcia look like kirby freemen..

I know you were getting work done but if you ever watch the game, you will see how no one was open. UVA was all over our WR’s and TE’s. I know our WR’s suck and are slow but the routes we run are as bad as Lashlee’s running play draws. Holy ****. Yesterday, it was more noticeable than ever.

That's what I find striking whilst watching CFB. When you watch good offenses, not even great offensive teams like Tennessee or Ohio State, it's very common to see guys getting wide open, catching the ball in space or with the receiver in motion (opportunity for YAC). With our offense, guys are always covered. But even if a catch is made, our guys are static with no chance for YAC. While we may not have the talent we would like, I would think that we have enough talent to not be so anemic.

Not treating him fairly probably meant taking away his responsibilities.

It won’t change with Mario leading the program. He doesn’t believe in it. If he hasn’t adapted in 2022….. he never will.

It’s going to be a putrid brand of offensive football for the foreseeable future. But I guess grinding out ugly wins is better than losing offensive shootouts? Time will tell

Also to your point…. We don’t have any easy throws in this offense. The last easy throw I remember was TVD hitting arroyo in A&M game…. That was 5 games ago 😶

I believe that was on a 4th down or something, that was mind-boggling that route concept
Looked like Mallory got jammed up trying to cross underneath.
There was no second option.
(No secondary receiver running their route with any conviction, anyway).

It’s actually a good thing that Garcia fumbled on the play because he was about to throw it into a whole bunch of Blue.

Who runs a 4.8 at wr?

Bill Walsh rolled over in his grave watching this monstrosity..

If you're offense is reliant on having 10 All-Americans and 5 future Pro-Bowlers, well, the problem is what your running and how you're calling it

Last years play calling, with this years same exact defense.. would be playing in a ACC championship.
not with 8 turnovers against duke and giving up 45 points to middle tennessee state it wouldn't
We also had 500 yards passing and 30 first downs vs UNC.
Don’t know if I can count that as a Lash win either.
I’ll give you a half W there.

reference speed and our lack there of…I saw an interview like 6 months ago where Feld downplayed 40 times etc…I believe he said something like he thinks they’re not relevant as it is very rare somebody runs 40 yards. Well they do against us, and to my novice eyes we always look like the slowest team on the field. Didn’t JJ put a premium on speed?

I’m not going to get into the hiring process, but from what we all heard, I don’t think Gattis was his 1st choice. Water under the bridge at this point.

There’s also the argument that Mario isn’t an X’s and O’s guru so my question is just how much influence does he really have on the O scheme.

We could go on and on as to why we’re seeing the **** we’re seeing on offense. Bottom line is it’s obvious something’s gotta give and only Mario has the power to change it…… or not.

Why was Gattis even a choice.... especially with what those who coached with him were saying?

We cant run by anybody, have no explosive plays, scare nobody MTSU, DUKE, UVA locking these boys up and you still asking this question?! For all I care, ALL OF EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :ibis-roflmao-sm3:
well I mean im curious. you guys say these kids are run a 4.8 but I want to see some times that theyre actually that slow.

It’s crazy your pass game can suck so badly.

Lane Kiffin is a known copy cat that scours football for plays that work each week and just runs them.

It can be as simple as that sometimes.
Yep. That’s a great short term fix. But rather have people who can come up with the ideas that other copycat.

And you know who does that? Younger HS and low level college coaches that aspire to make a name for themselves.

Those are the guys you take a chance on.
