The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same

Agree but we can’t afford to have a stafff of stud coaches. Bama is around the 20 million mark for coaches we can’t compete with that.

Can we afford a staff that can out coach some nobodies and squads with inferior talent?

Can we afford a staff that can put up more than 14 points over our last 4 games?

When we had the opportunity to add a coach, we chose to add a nobody on defense. I am not worried about competing with Bama, we're struggling with Joe Burrow and Ed O.

Doesn’t seem like we can unfortunately.

Richt and his practice habit of 1's V 2's severely handicapped or slanted the qb competition... making Rosier look better throwing against Knowles and Dean while Perry, Weldon and Jerren were facing JJ, shaq and pinkney
I'm not sure Richt actually can use 85% of his playbook because he knows Rosier can't physically execute the plays..half the time he doesn't even recognize the blitz or coverage..
Most of the 3rd down plays should be converted but Rosier can't deliver the ball

But that's on the Richt clan more than Rosier

The next three games will be very interesting. Even with Rosier we’ll crush Savannah State, and should rout Toledo and FIU. I want to see how much playing time Perry, Weldon, and Williams get. Savannah State almost doesn’t count. Richt could start Williams and we’d still win by 50. But what if Rosier struggles against Toledo? Or FIU?

Don’t count on that Toledo route.

Apparently we need to reach the player talent level of Troy before we can beat an LSU. Yeah, that's it.

Not being a *********, I went to sleep at half-time, but woke u to check the final score, so I am here with you. I disagree that Richt is "safe." He just isn't a great of a coach. To be more accurate, he is an above average coach, an above average recruiter, and an above average leader/ceo. He just isn't elite or great at anything. All coaches like things, "their way". Just so happens that "Richt's way" is just above average. Most people knew this, and know that he can only take us so far. I could defend most of his hires, but it would take too long. The glaring staff mistake is his son as Qb coach/recruiter and himself as OC. I think Richt does have "swag" or would allow his teams to have "swag", but neither he nor them are simply good enough.

Here’s y I say he’s safe; he puts seniority over talent. He’s going w a guy who “knows” the offense vs a guy who’s green with talent. He did the same thing at UGA.

I hate to bring him up, but did u see what Saban did in the national champ game and game 1 of the season? That’s not being safe; that’s taking a chance and rolling the dice on talent v a guy who had more seniority.

Richt is a great person, but I cant call him above average as a coach no longer. I can say he’s a good coach, but to call him above average at this stage in his career is foolish.

We just got smoked by a team where the QB completed under 50% of his passes. We just got smoked by a team where their head coach is more interested in craw fish than coaching football. We just got smoked by a team where the QB had 0 TDs. We just got embarrassed on National TV by a team barely in the top 25. We just got gashed by a running back who’s best game was 78 yrds in a single game. We’re now on our 2nd four game losing streak in back to back years.

If Richt was honest, he would hire an OC. If he care about winning, he would fire his son and Patke would’ve never been hired. Becoming great doesn’t mean u hire a bunch of yes men. That’s what Golden did. U also don’t hire a bunch of no men, either. U need a balance. Right now, his staff is completely out of balance, and he’s OK w it, b/c it’s safe and he’s comfortable.

Fair enough!

I don't necessarily agree with this. But we will find out one or another very quickly. Its one game, he went with a strategy going into this season that after one game is obviously not the right one. If he goes back to drawing board, plays some other qbs going forward and makes some adjustments he can fix it. He has a month of extended camp with some easy games to work things out which is good. We will see. I think he wants to win badly though. He just has to let the dogs loose!

It’s not one game; that’s the problem.

Let me take you down memory lane:

Year 1: Mid season, go on a 4 game losing streak.

Excuse: Kaaya.
Reason: Kaaya can’t run the R in RPO.

Year 2: 10 game winning streak
Reason: Rosier can now R in the RPO
End of season: 3 game losing streak
Excuse: Rosier
Reason: Rosier can’t run the P in RPO

Year 3: 1 game
Excuse: Rosier
Reason: Rosier still can’t run the P in RPO

This is from white knight fans.

Here’s the REAL reason; Richt’s play calls are unimaginative, where defenders are roaming w no care. There’s no adjustments being made.

Defensively, we have a guy who’s more blitz happy than playing sound, fundamental defense, to the point a FIRST YEAR, TRANSFER STARTER was able to change plays at the L.O.S and gash our defense continuously.

We’ve now made Syracuse’s QB, Pitt’s FRESHMAN QB, Clemson’s QB who can’t even keep his job, Wisconsin’s QB who barely had more TDs than ints, UNC’s QB, GT’s QB, and now LSU’s QB all looked like 1st - 3rd round picks against our defense.

We have severe problems on both sides of the ball. Just b/c we forced turnovers and squeaked out some last minute victories do not cover up the fact that something is off with this team. The 10 wins was nothing more than lipstick on a pig. I got caught up in the Kool Aid, but after re-watching last yr season in preparation for this season, can’t lie...I didn’t feel that confident.

I talked ish and was rah-rah b/c I love this team, but u can ask my wife; b4 last nights game, as I paced and paced b4 kick off I told her I know we’re about to lay an egg b/c nothing has changed, and I know Richt won’t do what’s needed to win. Verbatim.

Sad thing is, I wasn’t even detrimentally mad; I expected it. I just wanted to be proven wrong.

Richt didn’t defend the dropped pass that lead to the TD. How bout calling a TO and talk to the refs?! He didn’t go ballistic over the phantom running into the kicker or jumping over the shield calls that cost us a possession. He didn’t ring the refs neck when they blew the face mask call toward the end that took away a drive. He didn’t yank Feagles to the side after back to back shanked punts. Didn’t pull Rosier to the side after missed throw after missed WIDE OPEN throw.

This is our coach and staff. Another, “aw shucks guys, we’ll gettem next time” staff. There will always be an excuse, but the FACT is this staff is predictable, too laid back, and have cush jobs b/c they know where we were and if we can compete for the Coastal every year, that’ll be good enough.

The admin has no interest in winning.

They pretend the school is poor, and hide behind not having to disclose financials as a private school.

No program looking to win titles would hire Mark Richt after he was ****canned by UGA.
