Fsu was a power house program up until a few years ago. They dominated in the acc until fairly recently. Now they have become one of the weakest teams in the conference. Nebraska in the 1980’s to about 15 years ago was one of the best programs in college football. They had one of the highest winning percentages during a 20 year period. They won many big 12 championships and some national championships. During the past several years they have become a disaster.

As for the Canes, we all know what has happened to our program the past 15 years. We are on our fourth coach since 2000 and it looks like #5 coach may be a reality in the not too distant future. No need to rehash all the problems we’ve experience during this down cycle. All of us are frustrated that we have become a mediocre team. Every coach we hired from Coker to Richt have not produced the performance we want. None of us know what the future will be. Our down cycle may not end for years, regardless who is the coach. College football is big business and we are not one of the major players. Currently the best teams are like the Apple Corporation. We have become similar to a small mom and pop operation. The mighty have fallen on difficult times.

Difference between us and all the teams you mentioned is that we are Miami. Miami is a potential Alabama type program when Saban took over. His 1st year they went 7-6 then shot up and haven't looked back (namely because of coaching and recruiting). Look at the excitement that Richt brought to us when he came in and the possibility of greatness crept into our minds?! ****, we took over the world last year when we were 'back' and we weren't even really that good. We can turn it out around FAST! We just need the correct coaches to harness the talent.

Every HS player wants to be a Hurricane - let's be real - but it has to be the Hurricanes we see on TV, the 30 for 30's Miami. THOSE Miami teams don't need bags and they definitely don't play 2nd fiddle to Bama's recruiting whims.

That Herbie CornSUCKER football problem only won TWO Big 12 championships in " 16 years!" And that's one of the reasons, among others, why Herbie Cornsucker BOLTED for the Big 10, where they still haven't won a conference championship. OUCH. Also, they were always getting " bytched slapped " in major bowl games and what not. Heck, they had a losing streak of EIGHT CONSECUTIVE bowl games circa the 80's - 1994. Nebraska finally broke that shameful losing streak against Miami and Osborne FINALLY won a national championship game. Heck, it took him TWENTY-THREE years to do that. Nevertheless I get the point of your message and all that. But please don't make that Herbie Hayseed Cornhusker program to be the likes of Roll Tide. Because Alabama has THREE TIMES the national championships than Nebraska. And numerous more conference championships.

Never implied that Braska was equivalent to Bama. But check record of Bama record a few years prior to Saban. Even tide had a down cycle period.

Don't forget about Tennessee and Michigan. Even Texas has made bad hires and Herman still has the jury out. Sometimes I wish our fans could be more like Kentucky fans who appreciate when they get a Mark Stoops and don't call for his head after a 7 win season.

Seriously do u believe what u just wrote? How is this small private school like a big state school where the entire state solely looks forward to football on Saturdays.

Every HS player wants to play for miami? Sure it shows...

Only reason we will remain semi relevant and not totally drop off like a Nebraska is bc we are located in Miami. But in terms of blue chip players that have a major impact staying in Miami? Rare nowadays.

Even with Roll Tide being in the " doldrums " they still have SIGNIFICANTLY more NC's and conference championships than that Herbie Cornhusker program.! Heck, even might Southern Cal and the Fighting Celts have more national championship that Nebraska. And those two teams have experienced their seasons of being in a " down cycle, " too.

One has to understand the thing with Nebraska and those Herbie Hayseed Cornsucker's. They collectively BELIEVE their beloved Cornhusker's are one of the Top 5 major college football programs. When that's FAR FROM the TRUTH!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Nebraska has it's precious consecutive sell out home game streak. But that's all.:zczkqmritjdsoaq.jpg:

My a$$ didn't even realize that Notre Dame was undefeated and ranked top-5 in the country right now!
The same ND team we boat raced last season.
How in the ****?!
And we're over here losing to UVA and BC.

A rare sense of reality on cis. You are to be commended. +1000

Let UK have an equivalent mediocre season in Basketball and watch how they respond. They tolerate the 7 win season in football because it’s second fiddle to their historically dominant basketball team. Just like we tolerate mediocre to average seasons from our basketball team. We are just happy to make the tourney in b-ball.

You're right, there is no getting around the born and bred fans that will only go to the state schools a(who are we pulling from Louisiana or Alabama that aren't going to LSU and Bama) and I'm not saying we can outspend those schools either.. I'm not delusional.

Look at Braxton for example, out of NC and saw what Miami was at the top and fell in love. We have that magic when we are playing that others schools can't match. We got dumb *** finebaum making an *** of himself with the chain and how many turnover copycats now?

Yeah, we don't have blue chips lining up and you're right. All I'm saying is that if we are good, players would rather be associated with the U than another program. We just need a good staff and things will happen fast

True but every year that passes is another year further from when we were on top. In 2018 we are approaching the point where teens choosing schools do not know or recall or even care for Miami of the early 2000s. Only recall Bama and the SEC...shiit they may even be unaware/forgetting bout the next team after us in USC n Reggie bush etc.

All we need is a good coaching staff, easier said than done as we all can see. I'm not sure if that's bc of all the bigger state schools with more funding, NFL really taking off now (#1 sport now in USA IMO) or what but its tough nowadays to have a full well rounded coaching staff.

Keep blaming the staff. These SFL kids don't know how to handle adversity at all and they come in mentally and physically WEAK.

I am sorry, but if the hire of Mark Richt, perennial ***** of Florida, 2 conference titles in 15 years, fired from his last job put greatness in anybody's mind, it is entirely your own fault that this season is a disappointment. As to last year, we were a paper tiger, and everyone knew it beside some homers.

The Current hurricanes are ******* miles from the 30 for 30 team you reference. We are 5-6 in our last 11 games, three of those wins against mid major teams. We don't have the players, we don't have the staff. The rebuild hasn't even begun.

Shame.

ND did a 180 within the span of a year. Completely different team from when they got stomped in the Rock.
