The Malik Rosier Problem

he won 10 games and embarrassed us and himself in the 4 immediately after.

I had a coach tell me once that I didn't get it done on a defensive possession in a basketball game. He said it wasn't my fault. It was his because he was stupid enough to put me in the game. He has never been an elite QB but gave it what he has, It's Richt year 3 and nobody is challenging him. What does that tell you they don't have anybody to put in the game. Say what you want but Ed O found a QB after the spring game and had him practice for a month and won a game.

I only disagree with the name-calling for Rosier. Yes, he sucks as a Qb, but that where it should stop. He is not forcing Richt to put him out there. That's all Richts decision. He deserves the name calling and firing, if he keeps putting Rosier out there.

QB Depth Chart at Practice:

1. Malik Rosier
2. N’Kosi Perry
3. Cade Weldon
4. Jarren Williams

This is disheartening, but I don't really care what order they come out in, so long as the other guys get 1st team reps.

Richt still has a job to do, and from what Dee says, part of that is helping Kosi and Cade grow up. Hopefully this is his way of saying the job isn't gifted to you.

This week is a layup. The real test will be seeing who takes the first snap to get ready for Toledo.

rosier sat back and was content to be the backup for 3 years. didn't study film, didn't learn to be a leader, didn't work on his dog **** mechanics. he deserves plenty of blame.
It’s even more frustrating the Richt and LilRicht has a year to somehow make Rosier better and Saturday proved it, same **** different day from Rosier

Those are Kirby Freeman type numbers .
I just realized that both of them had game winning drives at FSU. Maybe his **** performance Sunday will have the same effect as Kirby’s NC State game and we will never see him behind center ever again.

We all knew coming in that Rosier was the only real option for the LSU game. Many of us fully expected to see the QB competition open up after the LSU game. So here we are. Roh-sure played poorer than expected and now we have 3 game to determine his replacement.

Rosier's legacy to UM should have been that he took the helm for the 2018 season, beat FSU, VA Tech and Notre Dame and led the Canes to their first Coastal Division title. Then took a backseat to our next elite QB. Its time for him to fulfill his legacy by stepping aside. Just need the coaches to do their job and one (or more) of the other 3 QB's to do theirs.

it tells you that there are plenty of deficiencies in both coaching and players, but that doesn't absolve rosier of being dog ****. if he was about 50-55% with drops and a pick then i would accept it, but missing as badly as he did is unacceptable for a senior, especially a 5th year.

You can bash a collegiate athlete from behind a computer screen but I won't do it. He came to Miami as QB2 with Kaaya in 2014 and as a 2 sport athlete. He quit baseball to focus on football and he didn't transfer out to another school after sitting the bench unlike 95% of college QB's these days (Hi, Jack Allison and Evan Sherriefs).

The fault here lies directly with the QB coach/head coach and their lack of recruiting/developing a guy to take over the reigns. There should be a better QB option at the U in year 3 of Mark Richt

spare me the white knighting. his "focus" on football amounted to nothing, which he himself has admitted on multiple occasions. does he somehow get a pass for passing time on the pine for his first 3 years here? he only started preparing himself once it was clear that he was going to be the guy.

i'm not excusing the lack of development of backups or qb recruiting because that's its own dumpster fire, but if you're seriously telling me that the coaching staff is the reason that i have a better chance of calling 35 coin flips than a 5th year guy does of completing a pass, we're just going to have to agree to disagree.

Well apparently 2 of the 3 are dolts, and then there's Williams, who supposedly just hasn't been here long enough.

I say we roll with Williams and let him develop. I don't care that he's a freshman. If he becomes a superstar, it's not like he's staying for a senior season anyway. Get him out there. Play him, let's see that upside.

This is the perfect time to break in new QBs.

PS, how much you want to bet MR comes out against *Savannah State* and struggles? I bet he does. This might get ugly early Saturday.
