I will start off with my central point:
Malik Rosier should never take another snap at Miami, and if he does, Mark Richt has spiraled into the abyss senility faster than we thought possible.
I am sure this belief is held by 99% of our fan base, but what I really want to do is frame just how stupid Mark Richt will look sending this disheveled ****** out there again on Saturday to start for us.
Here are Malik's stats over the last 4 games:
- He's averaging a sizzling 189 yards a game.
- He's completed a sniper-like 44% of his passes.
- That's good for dead last in college football over that span.
- He's averaging just 1 TD per game.
- But he's made it up with 7 total INTs.
- He's led the offense to a robust average of 14 points a game-- second to last in in the country over that span.
So we find ourselves amidst a 4-game losing streak. An especially embarrassing one, at that. One that has not helped to quell the notion that Richt can't beat good teams at an acceptable rate. We also find ourselves with Richtirement at the helm; a man constantly walking around in Hawaiin shirts, ordering pina coladas and loving his new life where he has escaped the pressures of an SEC program for one that showers him with praise like an overly supportive parent. "Wow, Mark! That IS a great blowout loss." He's got his feet kicked up like a former **** General in Argentina, laughing maniacally at how masterfully he orchestrated his cushy escape.
However, he is now at a crossroads. He's got a fifth-year senior with pea soup for brains. Yes, it is largely his fault for being in this situation, but he has to put down the shuffle board stick and realize this simple fact: there is no benefit to this program in starting Malik for another single snap.
Malik:
1. Is awful
2. Is leaving
3. Seems to get worse every week
Maybe this revelation will come to Richtirement during one of his afternoon, mouth-wide-open, golfcart naps, or while he's watching "his stories" on the tv, but it needs to happen. There is a 3-game stretch coming up that basically equates to a glorified preseason slate. We are not winning anything with Malik. We are not touching Clemson with Malik. He is gone after this year. Every snap he takes is a wasted opportunity for the young guys. This program's best move is to rotate in all the young QBs in live game action until one of them can separate themselves for the rest of conference play.
If you see Malik take a snap this Saturday, Mark Richt's descent into madness has entered a freefall, but will he really notice if he's busy reading his bingo card?
God help us all.
