Miami has vastly underperformed considering the talent on the team over the past few years with golden and co at helm. We all know that offensive scheme and defensive scheme coley, golden and donofrio orchestrated was down right horrible. Miami legit should have been at LEAST a ten win team last year if we had If you consider the offensive and defensive schemes horrible performance, being the most penalized team last year in the country, was in the bottom half of the 3rd down conversion rates and kicked the MOST field goals by far of any team in the country... You can't be an elite team like that you are basically playing against yourself. So with that being said we have had many great additions to the U since December 2nd 2015 richts hire date. I love that richt throws in the endzone we hardly did that last year which caused us to often get stopped in the endzone and have to settle for field goals to frequently. This change alone will help put more points on the board and help us become a more efficient offense. Exciting times for this season man

we always threw the ball in the red zone last year...Kaaya just over threw all the end zone fades...something he needs to improve on

I don't know man I rewatched the games a lot last year we probably did but not as much as we should have. When we did throw the ball near the goalline we had success which is why I always asked the question why didn't we do it more often last year. All I remember is that we ran the ball alot on the goal and in the redzone. And no doubt kaaya does need to improve on leading his passers on the deep ball and get a little more accurate on throwing on the run

Here we go again. Let's quibble about the little **** and ignore the elephant in the room. Sure, I guess if Duke had 6k yards his last year we would have won more games, but a more obvious solution would have been for Doritos to not have insisted that his guys couldn't cross the line of scrimmage. Likewise, maybe play selection was more to blame than a few misplaced balls. Kayaa isn't perfect, but if you're complaining about him you're missing the big picture.

The real redzone problem wasn't Kayaa, it was the fact that we couldn't pick up a 3yd run unless the other team was convinced we would pass. o line couldn't get any movement when it counted. We threw because we HAD to, and when the other team knows you won't run you're already ****ed.

Did you watch our games last season? Miami would run twice into the middle of the line(With no lead blocker I might add), and then try to throw on third down. That's a recipe for disaster, because teams are keying on the pass on that down. Coley had Kaaya attempting to sell a QB wrap fake, with everyone knowing full well that Brad isn't a threat to run. Teams didn't respect the fake. Frankly, Kaaya was the least of our worries in the red zone last year, he never got a chance to succeed, due to Coley's lousy playcalling.

We lead the country in non-existent penalties last year as well. Here's hoping Richt can clean that up.

You actually may have a point here-though I cant remember that being a specific problem throw for Kaaya.

Kaaya was pretty bad in the Red Zone in 2015 stat wise, hitting only 45% of his passes (28/62) and had the lowest QB rating of any starter in the ACC. Nationally ,he is not even in the top 100 in the RZ.

Definitely room for improvement. He's off to a good start in 2016

Edit: 2014 Kaaya had nearly identically bad stats in the RZ and again had one of the worst QB ratings in the RZ.

2 years in a row ! Yes ,this is a problem Kaaya needs to correct.

I'm confused Brock. You claim that we all knew how horrible the schemes were under the former regime yet you whole heartedly supported Golden and were calling for him to get more time. Maybe everybody else understood how horrible the schemes were, especially at a school like Miami, but you were pretty late to that party.

Another boring ***, going nowhere thread that needs to be put out of its misery.

He was typically throwing on 3rd and long in the redzone...b/c we would run it on the first 2 plays and get stuffed.

This notion that I was some golden supporter is utterly ridiculous. Now how stupid do you look. This was from 2014, and before this I been wanted golden gone image.webpimage.webp

Next time you are thinking about starting a thread at 1 am put your phone down and go to sleep.

You bring these things on yourself. Stop bringing up the past regime and posters will stop reminding you how much sooner they knew Golden sucked than you did. I waited too long on Golden. At the same time, I don't talk about him in every thread and am thrilled we have Richt. No one here is arguing Golden and crew are even in the same coaching ballpark as the current staff. Why bring it up constantly?

For whatever reason,Kaaya was horrible in the RZ.

Last year ,1 in 20 throws in the RZ were picked off. Outside the RZ only 1 in 160 resulted in a pick.

He was night and day in and out of the RZ. Statistically one the best in the NCAA outside the RZ and one of the worst in it.

Why? I don't know.

We lost all hope when Fisch left.. dude could manufacture offense and get us in the endzone.

Homey, you were a Golden Slurper. In fact, you slurped so hard that I heard about it while I was on Insidetheu.com. Now, that is some serious slurping. It's all good, Homey. You wanted to believe in Golden longer than most...I guess.
