The last time Miami played in the Cotton Bowl

Not to be a spoil sport, but we did not cover ourselves with glory that day.
We won but our behavior was outrageous.

I think the Mods are about to put me into time out.

You for real here? Are you fuggin kidding? You know there is an Anti-Trolling rule here. @RVACane @JD08 I'm about to earn a time out here.

I just remember the fawning over Texas prior to that game. People just propping up the Longhorns and how Miami was in for a game, ect, ect. Texas to this and that, blah blah. Then they are butthurt when we trounced their blue blood tails. Yes behavior is what it is but if you knew the national talk at the time….I was glad to shut them up.

My father was as staunch an opponent of trash talk and celebration as you'd ever find, but they they were singled out and demonized that year. He loved the Randall Hill tunnel celebration.

We showed them that trying to keep us out of the top tier by making us the bad guys and singling us out with rules wouldn't work. We weren't going to change who we are to fit who they wanted us to be.

ACC Refs look at that 200+ penalty yards called against Miami and say “hold my beer”.
People who weren’t around then don’t realize how dominant our great teams were. Like the films and all that can’t capture every aspect of it. We would get unsportsmanlike penalties on offense even - and get backed up 15 yards, do it again and get backed up another 15 yards, and still make 30 yard first downs and TDs. We were so much better than most teams we played that it was child’s play and the powers that be hated us because we were uncontrollable. It’s like Tony Montana at the end of Scarface “I take all your bullets” and we just kept cutting through soft butter with a warm knife.
