He played offensive tackle in HS, then switched to DT at JUCO. He broke his foot the 1st yr at JUCO, so redshirted. Then 3 games into his 2nd yr he broke the other foot. Which is why he only had 15tackles in total for the season. This is why he has 3yrs to play 3yrs. So this kid has played DT for maybe 50 snaps at the college level and probably high school for that matter also.

I welcome the young since staff feels he can play.

hawaii doesn't hand out OV's like that. otherwise, every top kid would have hawaii as one of their OV's. i'm sure there is a method and system to who they offer OV's to. it ain't everyone.

b/c they don't. otherwise, like the other poster suggested, every top recruit would call and say they want to visit UH. doesn't happen. U rarely see any top kids visit list read "ND, USC, FSU, Texas, and Hawaii". they don't just any top recruit visit b/c i'm sure they are aware of kids wanting a free trip.

its a pretty known fact Hawaii is pretty stiff with their OVs. Outside of west coast guys, they don't take many visitors from places other than California, Washington and Oregon.
