The irony (and detriment) of conference expansion

Conferences are too big make zero sense geographically. I know it's all about TV markets and revenue but this current model is killing the sport. It was so much better with 10 to 12 team conferences that were region based.

Miami is a national brand and has fans everywhere. But how many fans would actually make it to a west coast game? I can't imagine there were many Stanford fans at Hard Rock this year.

The fact that we are left out of the ACC championship game without playing either of the two teams in it while being the highest ranked is abysmal. And if a three loss Texas or Alabama make it in over Miami the that proves playing tough ooc games will probably become a thing of the past. Why would a team want a blemish on their record if it means nothing in the end?

There are so many things wrong with college football right now. It really is sad.
