(The) Indiana (Game)

Give me the short versions were long by 20?
They’re actually giving an honest (has to be cause they have their reasonable concerns, right?) breakdown of how Dawson’s system and execution works, Hetherman’s philosophy and execution works, and how they’ll have meet those challenges. It actually is quite refreshing to hear an opponent’s view without pumping sunshine that occurs sometimes with some teams.

Everybody forgets that after the pick 6 Oregon went right down the field on them and scored. Mistakes had Oregon down 21-7 real quick (pick 6 and fumble on their own 3 yard line) and completely changed the game. Game script made Oregon one dimensional and Indiana never let them back in it.

Look at the stats of the game. The 3 turnovers lead to 21 points and Oregon couldn't get off the field on 3rd down.

Also Mendoza fumbled twice but Indiana recovered both times.

The game got away from Oregon due to their catastrophic mistakes. I do give Indiana a lot of credit for capitalizing and stomping on their throat, though.

Oregon WAS running it on em before they imploded. They were talking about the Oregon gameplan being to run it. Instead they had to throw and decided to leave their QB back there holding the ball waiting for 4 verticals to clear and taking sacks.
UO oline coach is A'lique Terry, Mario/Mirabal guy who got coaching gig under them at UO. Im sure they touch bases as I have heard both sides speak highly of each other in pass. In last game UO felt they would be able to run on them but obviously turnovers changed all that.

He doesn’t mention the weight difference on the lines. That defense can’t get through a wall that hits just as hard. This will be a lot like the Pitt game on offense
It wasn’t this pod but he may have been a guest on a different one but he said he basically said it wouldn’t make enough of a difference to change his mind

That’s their biggest strength. They don’t make serious mistakes, and they make you pay dearly for yours.

I will say this, I have faith in our defense. Despite the lack of sacks, Chambliss got the ball out quick. Quicker than he has this season. The defense sped him up which was the goal. The only thing they had to do was capitalize on those ints and it would have almost been a perfect game.
Spot on. The front 7 did their job. Secondary just didnt finish it off. We bring in two of those picks the final is probably 34 to 21 or something and Chambliss ends up being blamed for the loss or our D credited for the win.

This si also just not true. Mendoza put the ball on the ground twice against Oregon and they got lucky to recover. In every big comp game Mendoza had a pick as well. They make mistakes they have just been good enough to overcome them or caught a few good bounces.

It's probably too early on in the season and theyve adjusted the same way Miami has... but its hard to watch the Iowa Indiana game and not think we win at minimum. They absolutely crushed Indiana's oline and Mendoza is one read and run.

Have we discussed the absolute GARBAGE rushing offenses Indiana has faced?

Rushing Yards/ Attempt rankings (*Excluding G5 teams*)

Illinois 100th
Iowa 50th
Orgeon 13th
Michigan St 104th
UCLA 45th
Maryland 67th
Penn State 36th
Wisconsin 122nd
Purdue 89th
OSU 59th
Alabama 127th (holy ****)

Indiana is very good against the run, but context is important. Who have the played? What offensive line has challenged them?

This game is going to be decided in the trenches, and just like the OSU game, media/bookies/general public are underestimating how large the advantage we have in the trenches.

I think we're going to be able to run it and control the clock. I don't think they will be able to run it.

24-17 good guys

None of my coworkers are saying we have a chance, I just basically said “Don’t be surprised if we win” The latest was the Texas fan I told you all about in another thread, he states “congrats, you all made it this far too get blown out by Indiana” I said maybe so, but don’t be surprised if we win. He then states that if it wasn’t for the missed pass interference call we probably would’ve lost the game, I said that was pass interference, he said he pulled the Ole Miss receiver down, I said ok, both had hands on each other, and did you miss the Ole Miss guy grab O’Connor’s facemask before the endzone?? He said he didn’t see that, I said ok, now what about the Lucas targeting call, he states “I don’t know I’m not a referee” I said bull**** then don’t say it was pass interference call call since you’re not a ref. Then he states that if Texas was in the playoffs we would t even be in it, I said well the thing is Texas has to make the playoffs 1st. Then a rambling about Arch Manning and we he was the best qb at the end of the season blah blah blah and I said you ****ers lost to Lagway and Florida, we dominated them. I said take of the orange and white glasses bud.
