Who else has been a Bahamian?

Fascinated by these cultural aspects.
There is a sh*t ton.

Antrel Rolle, Sean Taylor (Half bahamian Half Jamaican), Santana-Sinorice Moss, Glenn Sharpe, Phillip Dorsett, Ethenic Sands, Frank Gore, Vernon Carey, Tyrone Moss, Rashad Butler, Brian Munroe, Eric Moncur, Kayne Farquarson, Thurston Armbrister, Trevor Darling, Danny Isadora, Robert Knowles, Pat Bethel

In the 90's we had alot as well. I just listed alot from the 2000's on.

Remember going to a game in the OB when i was in high school with my old man and ended up sitting next to an older lady who heard me and my dad speaking as we sat next to her..she heard my old mans Bahamian accent and stated she was Bahamian and her grandson plays for um. After the game she introduced us to her grandson a freshman named Frank Gore.

That's a dope story.

And that's a LOT of Bahamian talent. Yeesh.

Just out of interest, how do you 100% they are Bahamian? Is it through personal connections?

What about other Bahamians at other CFB programs? Any notable names?

We just dont get mentioned much as people dont realize who is actually Bahamian...unlike Jamaicans or Haitians are accent isnt that strong and we assimilate. UM also have had some good Haitian and Jamaican ballers too. RIP the homie Bryan Pata

If the NFL even half heartedly donate or pushed equipment/infrastructure to the Bahamas there would be a flood of talent from their similar to Samoa. Alot of the kids already know the game and are physically talented already raw.
There are like 2-3 guys that go to the Bahamas an mine for talent (1 is known on this board) and ill guess routinely it ends up producing 2-3 div 1 prospects that they get here if they can have them play atleast 2 years of high school ball.

A few of them i know the family direct. Phillip Dorsett/Danny Isadora /Santana Moss/Elijah Roberts (he's jamaican as well)/Ethenic Sands

Others are based off of last name....Anyone named Rolle is Bahamian...Its like the Gonzalez of the Bahamas. The Bahamas doesnt have a ton of last names and we identify each other based off of those last names. Brian Munroe is one i never knew he was until he mentioned it on his radio sports show that he was.

But as you can see most of our Bahamian kids are from the tri county south florida area. The area from Liberty City to Down South (Coconut Grove/Florida City) is heavily Bahamian populated. Then the areas in Broward that are...Hollywood(Carver Ranches/Liberia neighborhoods) and Pompano Beach are populated as well...hence you have Phil Dorsett(Hollywood) and Andrew Bain/Tyrone Moss (Pompano) Palm Beach areas populated heavy are West Palm, Riviera Beach.

A little History Lesson.

This kid is a MAJOR SLEEPER. Plays small school ball...But honestly if we were to bring a grad transfer guy in to the wr room he would be one i look at. He has some nfl scouts evaluating him.

JFC that’s amazing

Bahamian. Yard man are Jamaicans.

Through the years we have had a high population of Bahamian americans on the team. Currently on the team we have Gilbert Frierson who is from(Coconut Grove the equivalent to Lil Haiti for Haitians and Lil Havana for Cubans for Bahamians) and Elijah Roberts.
Lemme spread it to West Indian then

Every time I see Rolle, Adderley, Sands, Bain, Moss …etc I assume they’re Bahamian — and I’m usually right.

Frank Rutherford, 1992 Bronze medalist in the triple jump for the Bahamas, has brought Bahamian kids to the US to finish high school in the US to get more experience and access to college coaches. The Darling twins who went to FSU were his cousins (Their brother Dennis ran for TCU/Bahamas).

Frank and the Darling's are related to me and he was one of the guys that i spoke of. He gets the basketball and football guys to come over here and stay in the Houston area.

Yup those are some of the most common bahamian last names.

Im just realizing that as athletic as Bahamians are...we are doing work with lineman. 2 more Bahamian guys i know. Alex Cooper who kicked around with the Cincy Bengals for a few and Chris Ferguson who started for cincy last year.
