Had one player out of all those number 1 classes go in the first round and he was from Miami. Get Butch back in here asap and this thing can be back on autopilot!!!

Landon Collins should have went in the first round. Idk how he slipped.

2nd round steals are gonna be Collins, Gregory and Denzel for teams. They will regret not taking those guys in the 1st round.

Agree. If dolphins have a shot at Denzel they better take him.

I honestly don't think Collins was worth a first. I expect him to be a complete bust. Honestly would have a tough time even picking him in the third.

That would be awesome and they pick 47. But I doubt they would take him. Probably a CB, LB or OL. Although I wanted Parker and was shocked they took him, feels great to be done with the Ireland catastrophe!!

Easy...all of the experts were saying he leaves too many plays on the field and that he lacks the ability to get the ball at the highest point.

The thing with Collins is, he's a big massive thumper S. Not every defense wants to have basically another LB on the field for 3 downs, especially with all the spread formations that are run in today's league.

A team is going to have to take Collins, and figure out what exactly to do with him. Do you play him at S and work on his range and cover skills? Do you bulk him up a little more, and play him as an experimental 3-4 OLB? He's already at 6'0/228, so that wouldn't be that big of a stretch physically.

If he went to the right system, say to Atlanta w/Dan Quinn, he could play the same kind of role that Chancellor does for Seattle. That's Quinn's D in Seattle, so...maybe they try to scoop him up at #42 if he's still there.

And it doesn't seem like he is great at any one skill. Jack of all trades type. Doesn't have "off the charts" athleticism, size, or ball skills. Which is what makes a 1st round S.

Still think he will be a steal in the mid 2nd.

As far as Nick is concerned, I think even he will admit that ALA team last year wasn't one of his most talented ones. They over-achieved. Blake Sims was there QB for Christs sake and he wont even be drafted.

Still remember people on this board about two years ago drooling over TJ Yeldon. Lol. I wish we could dig up that thread. I knew that guy would bottom out. People were actually calling him a freak. Smh.
 
I'd take one player getting drafted in the first round if it means making the NCAA playoffs.

Under-performance by previous Bama picks is starting to hurt in the draft now. Three years ago, Yeldon goes 1st round too. Saban and Bama peaked and are sliding. If we had a coach we could be in position to make huge move this year.
 
i kinda think saban pulled a Golden with Collins. Didn't he run a laser timed 4.3 as a high senior and looked much faster as a freshman. Never seemed to play at the same speed after gaining so much weight.

Because Collins isn't great in coverage; whereas, Randall excels in that department.
 
Alabama had a down year. They ONLY made it to the Final 4 and had a guy go in the Top 5 picks in the draft. A guy he stole from us.

But yeah, OP, go on.

Agreed. Nothing else matters than wins on the field. If players get drafted after the fact...Great! If not, who cares. Wins and Losses are all that this football team (and coaching staff) should care about.
