If you think this year is bad it is. What concerns me more is the murder's row schedule of 2024. Mario has little time now. Basically 21 months to get this program ready for what will be one of the hardest schedules the team has ever faced:
@ Florida
FSU
Pitt
@ Notre Dame
@ Syracuse
@ Clemson
@ Wake Forrest
We need to make the coaching changes now. Mario will not. The second best thing is to make them the day after we get beat down by Pitt. If Mario does not fire coaches we will not be in a position to handle this schedule in a respectable manner and he will be fired in year 4.
But I want to digress off Mario for a second and go to the real problem. The hiring of Manny Diaz. That hiring was so inept and quite frankly one of the worst in the history of all of college football. It is why we are paying for it right now.
This team has NO TALENT, NO LEADERSHIP, NO ACCOUNTABILITY and NO RESPECT FOR THE FANS OR THE PROGRAM'S HISTORY.
People say we shouldn't get blown out MTSU, beat down by Duke and murdered by a sub par FSU team. We shouldnt go 9 quarters without a touch down. You are **** right. However, let's be real these core players have been doing just that for 3 years. They got skulled ****ed by the likes of FIU, Duke (3x) and La Tech. The team played patty cake with Central Michigan and App State. Mel Tucker took our lunch, ate it and make us eat it off the ground after he crapped it out.
What I am getting at is simple. This team has sucked for years. Had it not been for King masking all the problems with the program it would have been even more apparent than it was or is.
The only saving grace is this season is over. All hope is gone. The bottom is almost in - GA tech stomping us will be the bottom just by pure math. It can't get worse because Clemson and Pitt are far better than us.
The only lingering question for me is this; Does Mario have the guts to do what is absolutely necessary? I don't know. But if he doesn't he is the now just part of the problem and the door will be shown quicker than he can imagine.
Insiders don't have to believe me. You had a packed rabid canes fan base for a game against a 5-3 FSU team and a bad canes team. Don't expect them to continue down this path if you (Mario) won't admit the truth that is known and work on rectifying the issues.
