The FSU game and Recruiting

I know some of the recruits will see the game and think that maybe they should go to FSU, but this post is for the ones who want to blaze their own trail instead of ride on someone else's coattails.

Mr. Moten and Mr. Cory Johnson, I know you saw a couple of Dline spots waiting with your names on it. If you have what it takes to seize it.
To any linebackers already on board who are good in space but are in doubt, I know you saw a couple of guys keeping your spot warm.
I know the great south florida ATH/safeties must have watched the game nodding their heads with a Cheshire cat grin
And big backs, you know that should have been you and not duke on that 4th down

I was on the fence about my decision but this random internet post just put things over the top.

Most of the recruits were there for a free trip as well as for the 2015 cycle. FSU's class is almost full like ours. Guys like Dixon and Moten see that they're going to get legit playing time for us next year - especially the latter.
 
LOL.

By the way, I never really bought into the hype of the importance of this game with regards to recruiting. Al just needs to keep grinding. Many of FSU's "studs" were signed when they were a 4 loss program. Identify the right guys. Sign the right guys. Develop the right guys.
 
Miami success has always been, and will always be, about 2 things.

1. Keep most of Miami's best HS players home.
2. Sign the right quarterbacks.

You could add something about finding OL elsewhere, but we've won lots before without dominating OLs. The song remains the same for us.... keep Miami's best players home and we matchup with anyone, Bama & FSU included. I think we're on the right path with back-to-back classes of Olsen/Kaaya @ QB. This game doesn't change anything (unless it sways Cook and/or Moten to FSU, that would sting).
 
People highly overstate the importance these rivalry games have on recruiting. A kid isn't choosing Miami or FSU or Florida because one beat the other in a game. Rarely happens.

BTW, looking at FSU, they really hit on their 2011 and 2012 classes. By my count, 8 of their offensive guys and 7 of their defensive guys come from those two classes.
 
These kids know they wont be playing on this years team. Its always nice to see a school perform well and look good. I think it helps FSU but I don't think it hurts us, especially considering it was exactly what everybody expected.

And the NCAA bull**** hurt us those past years. FSU has 3 starters on d and Shaw on offense from 2010, 10 contributers who produce in 2011, 6 from 2012 including Winston now that says it all. Those aren't just guys that play but all of those guys kill it especially on the defense and im barely even counting the offensive lineman who are producing now so in those past years they recruited great and we were handcuffed
