The fan's voice

No. These ego maniacs are dead serious... They are the reason why the team has performed well.. You can't make this stuff up.

So explain the change in style of play and defensive philosophy. You dont think Golden changed anything?

The biggest adjustment hasn't been on defense. It's been on offense. We have pounded the ball relentlessly, and effectively limiting the exposure of the defense. Can we do that against the better teams though??

Possibly but if you cant tell the defense is completely different in these blowout wins Im not sure what to tell you. I dont think it was the banner but you can be **** sure the heat coming from all angles made a SIGNIFICANT impact on this team. Just win baby

I'm not saying the pressure hasn't had an impact on the team. It has. And IMHO some of that pressure is internal which is a good thing. They need to keep it going. As for different defensive philosophy, they just aren't doing much differently schematically. On the goal line stand that should have been were it not for Hertelou's facemask, on at least one of those plays Perryman was lined up more than 8 yds off the line of scrimmage and came up and dropped the back for no gain. The difference was in how the player read the play, not the scheme there. Not saying the scheme is worth a ****. Just saying I don't see much different schematically. The players are making plays though. My take is it's stupid to run a defense this complex when you have limited practice time to install the **** thing per NCAA rules.

Agreed with the TOP control. But they have changed the D philosophically. We went from passive sit back to attacking. Granted the scheme didn't change, but you can't say they are being passive anymore.

Nothing has been accomplished yet. I don't get why people would double down on the slurping before something actually improved. Remember boys and girls, we've never beat FSU under Al AND we've never won more than 5 games in the ACC under Al AND we've never won the coastal under Al.

Try to doing the above before you double down. We want ACTUAL improvement in the above.

Correct.

2 weeks to prepare for a game against our biggest rival and at home. Sounds like a wet dream.

The biggest difference I've seen on defense is improved tackling and players actually playing in their positions. The scheme hasn't changed, but once the players begin showing the maturity to play their role and do their jobs, the coaches can unleash them more because there is more trust. No different than allowing Kaaya more freedom once he began proving himself. Even Perryman has made comments about players now doing a better job of doing their job.
Lmao

Does anyone doubt the fan's displeasure made a difference in what we have seen over the last 3 games?

Once things got real hot, Golden knew he had to do something fast. His job and his best friend's job were on the line. Regardless of what people say, the heat from the fans, media, banner, former players, empty seats, etc all had an impact on Golden and Blake James.

The fact he made those retarded shirts about Ignoring the noise tells you the noise was getting to him. Lots of dummies think you will make a difference by sitting on your hands watching a coach try the same failing scheme four years in a row. Once the noise began it took little time for changes to occur. So while Golden cultists get all hot and bothered by threads on this site or banners, or twitter accounts or people not donating or going to games, as you can see it is effective.

Never allow a coach to feel he is immune to criticism or accountability.

Could be that a high paid experienced head coach at a big time program like the U saw a banner in the sky. Then he did some reading on the web and started reading posts from die hard fans that wanted him fired. After all that, it dawned on him that he better change his approach....

More likely, he did exactly what many of you say he is incapable of doing; he made adjustments.

I am hopeful that the U can beat FSU in large part because I will be there cheering for this team. The icing on the cake will be reading the meltdown on this board of all the AG haters who will be apoplectic that he deserves NO credit should that happen.

LOL, I love the super fans like you that have the protect the HC agenda. NO **** he is adjusting. What you should be asking is why didn't he change last year or the season before that... yeah get back to me on that.

I'm not going to apologize for **** if we beat FSU. He will get the credit as he should, but I will still ask what took so ****ing long. Where was this team when we played UL/NEB/ and GT???

Only agenda I have is wanting to see Canes win, as opposed to others who wish otherwise with hope that it will lead to AG's dismissal.

I would agree that AG has been slow to make changes and even slower to respond to the press, fan base and alumni who don't understand what was and wasn't happening. I would agree to those of on the outside it has been frustrating and maddening.

My point is twofold. AG isn't going anywhere. Furthermore, any changes he made aren't a reaction to fan boards like this one. Whether you like him or not, he IS a professional who makes millions of $$ to coach at a high level. He knows he lost to Louisville, NE and GT. He might not have done a good job explaining his failures but he knows about them.

Plenty to be frustrated with in the past and i am not sure about the future. I am just saying he should get some credit for what he does right.i hope to **** this team takes it to FSU and it serves as both a joyous day for this fan base and a signature win for AG.

Laughing at your ignorance. Even one of your fellow whiners above admitted the scheme hasn't changed, but they are playing it more aggressively. You can play more aggressively when you are playing your positions correctly and you trust people to be where they are supposed to be and do what they are supposed to do. Basic football. Learn some.

No one said the heat was just from the boards. Way to try and manipulate the argument though. It wasn't the banner or the media or the ex players or empty seats. It was all of them combined. Also no one is taking credit from golden. Glad that he's finally being more aggressive. Let's see if it sticks

Nva came your an idiot. Trying to take credit for the last 2 games. Let's face it we are still under sanctions with only 75 scholarship players. Almost none of them have had a redshirt which is a HUGE disadvantage in development. No 1 under that scenario is competing for a championship. This staff deserves to be critiqued, but when they do good give them some credit.

Exactly. Our Db's were on the ground and our LB's were hesitant against GT, and we paid the price for that. That's the coaches fault too, so I'm not absolving them in any way. The real question is how bad are we going to look the next time we face a team that has a robust ground game. That would be Pitt.

I don't think that's a change in technique or style though after re-watching the highlights from GT. Our LB's were tentative as **** in that game Perryman included. That's my complaint about this defense. Too often the players are caught thinking too much.

Agree to a point. As they say KISS (Keep it simple stupid). In the GT game we didn't have our DE's crashing down. We didn't play simple option defense. Why their QB wasn't picking himself up after every play I still can't explain or excuse away.

Folden's cult is back! These sissies have been hiding behind his hedges peeking in his window whacking off to little peeps of Folden's muffin top since the GT debacle. Now, they're fully emboldened by a whipping of a 3 win UNC team, and they are back!

This. I guess we should be having parades because we are finally beating the teams we should beat.

Start cutting up the ticker tape! We beat a 3 win UNC team with the worst defense in football and the worst VT team I've seen since Flubberneck's first year or two.

This x10000.

Shocking that Golden's biggest c0cksuckers like dk72 are pounding their chests with the performances over these terrible teams.

If we play aggressive defensively against FSU and win the game (win, not come close), I think people will see the pitchfork and torches crew, like myself, tone things down a bit.

Until then, we are doing exactly what we're supposed to do: Beating terrible teams. We've scheduled nothing but cupcakes and we have no idea how Golden will utilize a defense and make adjustments when a real team like FSU comes to town. Win the FSU game or GTFO.

FSU has been teetering on the edge of getting beat by a bunch of decent and some not so decent teams all year. They're not the FSU of last year.

If Folden can't beat them in year 4 at home with an extra week to prepare, then we've improved nothing other than that we beat a **** team like UNC more convincingly than we beat them last year. Folden's nut suckers lose all perspective the minute we show a glimpse of improvement.

It's called a football season for a reason. It's not about 1 isolated game. It's about the body of work. We still have 3 losses we shouldn't have, and we still haven't done ANYTHING of note. Keep some perspective, faqqots.
