The Evolution of Jordan Lyle's Game

After a breaking off one the longest runs in UM history his Freshman year, Jordan earned the starting RB role his Sophomore year, got hurt and was never healthy all year. This year was interrupted by legal woes. With Brown hurt, Lyle has plenty of playing time opportunities. Creating a thread to monitor has career progression.

Jordan Lyle would be the starting RB for half of the P4 teams. That he can’t get on the field for more snaps at UM speaks to the quality depth we have at the postion. I hope he is patient because next season he should break out.

Lyle needs more carries
Mallory needs more carries
Upshaw, Lofton, Barkate need more catches

Where do people think these plays are coming from? We have so much talent but the math of how many plays can be run in a game is limiting. If we give more carries to Lyle and Mallory, Fletcher doesn’t get enough
More passes to the TE’s, Upshaw and Barkate means Toney doesn’t get enough.

Any ideas?

Honesty we should be playing more uptempo anyhow. Only issue there is Mario probably wouldn't be on board with that and as many injuries as we have on defense it would be counterproductive. Wouldn't be surprised if we see more uptempo in playoffs though when we're healthy. That's only way to get another 20 or so touches to spread around. It's a tricky slope though. Most fans don't understand the balance that has to exist between offense and defense to get them both playing at peak form

Great point. More plays on offense = more plays on defense.

Many make comments without considering all of the ramifications of their wishes. Perfect example of wanting more uptempo on offense without considering what the ramifications would be on defense.
