The Evolution of Javian Mallory's Game

Now we see why Bama tried so hard for the flip and why Javian drew raves during camp. Going to be interesting to watch his career evolve.

at the end the FAMU players quit and really didn't even try to push him out. disirregardlessly, he's a monster of a RB. power and speed and more impotantly vision.

Last point- Mallory is a 3*? These rating sites need to start handing out an extra point to Miami kids like they used to with Bama. Just look at the transfers that left. Dayln Russell is getting meaningful snaps at UL. We have 2 OL starting(Tommy and Nino). I’m sure there are other 2-3* kids that are now playing for their teams.

the star ratings tell you a fair bit more about cost to acquire than being an objective measure of talent. obviously on the macro, they’re correct, but there will always be inefficiencies in the ratings.

WE (as in Miami) want to continue getting lower ranked guys who perform like rockstars. far more important than getting the wrong guy with a higher rating, all things being equal.

Gore was lighter on his feet as a freshman than Mallory. So he could make this jump cuts and then explode.
Mallory runs a bit like Gore post 2 ACL’s, but I still think Gore was more shifty even after the injuries.

Both are natural RB’s with great vision and great lower body strength and contact balance.

He was a composite 4*
 
Great kid as well. If he doesn’t succeed (however you’d define it) it won’t be due to lack of work ethic or being a knucklehead.
