The Evolution of Elija "E9" Lofton's Game

[lindend]

For the third spring and fall practice in a row, insiders were raving about Elija and predicted that he'd be an impact player as both an RB, FB and TE during the season. He wasn't healthy in 2025 so we never saw the real version, but he was labeled a GreenTree All American on both CIS and X. During the end of 2025, he was making improvements, got hurt against Mississippi, and Alex Bauman ended up on punt protection and cost us our 6th ship.

Now that he's healthy, he's starting to live up to some of the hype. This thread will monitor the progression of his Junior/Senior years.

@Landon Tengwall did mention he wasn't a fan of lofton leading w/his shoulder on his blocks but admitted it was effective.

Zero reason Lofton shouldn’t catch at least 4 for 50 yards every game. He’s open a lot.

Lofton has been great and Shannon should run a few more plays towards him each game to keep D honest

Lofton been hooping, well deserved
